This is a cross-post from a Gear thread question asking me about the finger ramp on my T.C. Stingray.
Here’s one good source for finger ramps for several different models of basses from several different vendors.

My guy.
I’m working on a 4 song Ozzy set for a Halloween covers gig.
Been watching how Geezer plays, and I love it.
No finger ramps here, but full respect to the folks who love them and use them.
It’s allllll about how you play/want to play.
It’s just the titles of the videos, you know? “Why I like a finger ramp” vs “Why you NEED a finger ramp”.
My early experience with that style in the late ‘50s and early ‘60s was a knock on the front door from someone wanting to sell Fuller Brushes or World Book Encyclopedias or some such. You never knew you needed 5 different brushes until it was “explained” to you. ![]()
I won’t be trying to cover that bass line anytime soon. Maybe after I’m reincarnated.

This song is on my IEM test playlist, it helps determine the amount of MidBass in the tuning. I probably listen to this song like 500 times the hardest part is the right hand on this song. I try to pick up my bass and just miming along from time to time. I got much better than when I started but like a wise man once said
