Welcome! There’s a few of us that have either done project basses or or in the works, myself included. Check out this thread. Feel free to post details of your build there if you’d like because we like getting into the nitty gritty of it. 
I think you’ll find that Josh’s lessons will get you pretty far along in playing that thing.
