Wah Pedal anyone

So, I ended up with a mate’s George Dennis GD30 Wah pedal to play around with. He was never happy with it so I got it for a 6-pack (the other Australian currency)
I am Wah curious because I am playing NIB and Geezer used a wah for that apparently.
so far I am using the Z-Tron ‘autowah’ on my Zoom for best results but wanted to experiment with a pedal.
Now this one really doesn’t impress me, there is little change in tone and it is very quiet, with guitar or bass (bass is worse).
When I got it it hummed terribly.
I have been inside it and grounded everything and improved some of the soldering, there is a mystery brown wire that was not attached to anything and just floating.
The pedal is optical with an adjustable brightness red LED.
No idea what to do to improve this thing.
I am thinking about a cheap Chinese one to play with, leaning towards the Joyo Wah II which has an adjustable Q setting.
Here is a picture of the internals from another forum discussing these, you can see the loose brown wire floating in the foreground

Love AutoWah. I have the Boss Dynamic Wah and I use that all the time. it’s great for accent or some little solo.

yeah I like the zoom one, I have a mini pedal one but it is a constant cycle rather than reactive to attack

I have a mooer funky monkey auto wah but it’s different it’s not a trigger filter its a constant wah that you adjust frequencies, sweep, and speed…love it

I was having tons of fun the other week playing around with the wah pedal on my Boss board. There’s a point about 2/3 of the way through that just causes a screaming breakup that sounds cool.

What pedal is it?
Sounds like a didgeridoo

I’ve got a Boss ME-90B multieffects. I was having fun with a bunch of setting smooshed together.

This is:
Darkglass amp sim (Bass and Treble boosted)
Dyna Comp
Envelope Filter
Square Wave Synth
and a Wah pedal

And a lot of that is my just grabbing and shaking my E string by hand.

which wah pedal tho

It’s the default wah effect built into the ME-90b.

Looking up the manual, it just describes it as, “A wah effect.” Not modeling any specific pedal.

I had no real luck with the GD Wah, it kind of makes a quiet wah, but you can tell it’s heart really isn’t in it.
What I ended up getting was a Joyo Wah 2 which has a setting dial and adjustable Q.
It got here yesterday (and is a little smaller than I expected), and I had a quick play last night- I will get a chance to have a proper go this evening tho, with a bit of volume.
I’ll try it on the little 6 string treble bass also.
Last night my sleep was broken with a continuous earworm of N.I.B. intro which is what I was testing it on and the real reason I got it.
