Al, not quite the right thread, but I gathered you are a Guitar Pro user. I’m just debating buying it. Fed up with all the bugs in ProTab and MusicScore is just a nightmare of complexity. I’ve been playing with the trial version of of GuitarPro and quite like how it works. But I have one question you may be able to answer:
If I have a score which is displaying nicely with maybe 6 or more bars per line and I then make a multi-bar rest, select two or more bars and click Ctrl-R or use the menus, it creates the multi-bar rest just fine but also reformats all the score before that point, spreading it out to have only three bars per line and I can’t find anyway to get it back to the 6 or so I had before.
Have you come across this and maybe have a fix? I can just ignore multi-bar rests but they are convenient.
Hmmm! I’ve never thought about that being symmetrical on the final rendering. I have a song with maybe 16-20 bars break and it just compressed in to a blank equivalent of 3 bar space. I’ll have to check it out. On the app it’s one thing but in printed sheet it display full bars I believe. I haven’t print one in a long time.
I think it’s one of the box you have to check and/or uncheck as how you want to view it.
Thanks I’ll have a play. My trial ends today but I think I’ll bite the bullet and buy it. It’s so much better than ProTab and seems to import stuff easily. Also impressive how I can just drop the actual mp3 track in and it links the music and tab seemingly effortlessly (although if I’m watching it closely there does seem to be a little delay with the screen lagging the audio a fraction.
Yeah a bit. @Whying_Dutchman can probably sort it out for you. I’ve never get to fix my issue with that, but if you turn off the bass sound then everything is ok.
Remember, I use Tonelib Jam now for playing audio that is synched to tabs … and couldn’t be happier.
As long as the tabs are ok and you don’t need to edit it, I find it vastly superior.
Of course, I get my tabs here: https://ignition4.customsforge.com/
There is a trial version and you should only purchase it when discounted. Otherwise it’s too expensive…
