Yeah same - not the sound I like, 2x10 or 1x12 sounds better for the styles I like than 1x15. Mileage varies though.
No…if only!
How are you getting along with the Katana 110?
Hi @Al1885, I am getting along good. I am enjoying the sound of my playing plugged in more so than unplugged. Slides are not the same when you are unplugged
I am not adventurous on the settings yet- more or less middle of road type settings- but that is ok. I am happy my decision to purchase this amp. It was more in Canadian $ (around 550$ taxes in) than your US prices and more than what I wanted to spend on a starter amp. However, I think it will serve me well when I do get more adventurous with different bass sounds and functions it does provide.
My complaint, like yours, is where the control buttons are. They should be on the front of the unit or in a position that is easier to see and adjust.
Thanks for asking!
How are you liking the Kanata?
Even without using the effects it’s still a solid bass at the PricePoint. I’d buy it at that price without all of the thrills and frills. I’m loving mine so far. I’d probably spend another week or 2 on the Katana before I move back to my genzler.
After seeing the talk about the Katana on this and other threads, I’m seriously considering trading up my Rumble 100 For a Katana 210. I think it’d be great to have all those effects options without having to deal with (and pay for) a bunch of pedals. Also it’ll be a bit louder, so will be a bit longer before I’d need to get a bigger amp. I’m also starting to think I’d like the 2x10 sound better than the 1x12.
The only thing giving me pause is the weight difference.
Also, I already have a Boss Compressor and MXR Chorus pedal, but I suppose I can hang onto those until the day I do get a bigger amp for gigging. And maybe they have more features/options than the ones built into the Katana amp?
EDIT: Why doesn’t the Katana have a built-in tuner? It’s got everything else. ![]()
