Never heard this until today. @John_E will probably know why (If he’s caught up his YT viewing).
Whoa blast from the past! I remember that. That era of rap had some great great stuff. I used to love these guys:
Im stumped, a little slow today after being at an irish dance competition all day - its a lot of hair to take in
Social D. Mike Ness had some shit phases in the '80s but he is just an amazing guy now. Will always love these guys for their unique take on punk. Or in this case, cowpunk. Can’t go wrong with covering the Man in Black.
ahhhhh, I haven’t caught up on my Rich Brown in a while, been on a sax binge.
He’s so damn good and funny.
Lemmy and some guys
Just saw this and I have to post this here because I am so happy @JoshFossgreen covered Descendents ![]()

Their basslines are so good.
omg that’s excellent ![]()
Well this morning I’m listening to some Eric Bibb.
Hey @Barney - did you follow along with Rich’s lesson on this one?
I was just watching it and grabbed a bass.
His theme song is a funky little riff, so fun to play.
I love his little lessons that just give you musical ideas.
I wish I could remember a single one of them the next day or after though, lol.
Yeah even if a lot of it is over my head I watch it. There’s always something in there for me no matter how small.
He is fantastic. I tried to learn the concepts awhile back but would get lost. His smile on how simple/understandable what he just described should be almost had me going to therapy.
Yeah he is great. I like that he posts a wide range of topics from beginner to advanced.
I just let the advanced stuff wash over me like a wave hoping to catch the odd bread crumb. Apologies for the mixed metaphor.
That last lesson I slowed down to 75%. Sometimes he’s too fast. I do that a lot. Slow down and write it down. The one thing he is missing is grasphics on the screen illustrating what he’s talking about. But I like writing it all out. I remember things better that way for an extra 7 hours at least.
Just to provide a bit of counterpoint (and perhaps to illustrate how “lonely” or individual certain tastes can be (here in this forum or most everywhere else)
)
Well done. While the performance here is great, the comments are not far behind (he’s from Seattle and it was for a good cause)

My mashup. I loved Graceland if for no other reason that it introduced me to Ladysmith Black Mambazo. Paul was committing a crime here, because South Africa was being boycotted at the time, but he thought it was important to highlight their artists, so he recorded the album and toured anyway. Nice bass tone too
I have seen Ladysmith a few times, and even met them and got to hold one of their Grammy’s
