What a voice. :open_mouth: (The whole performance is really awesome but the track from 8:54 is just wow…)

This is one of the better duets I’ve heard in a while.
Blood Ceremony are an interesting band to say at least. If you like flutes and ambiance, this is a band for you.

Some healthy Italian funk/jazz/fusion: enter Black & Brown!

There is another version of this tune (with the same big band, but “only” George Duke and James Carter as guests) floating around somewhere in here… with a transcription of Carter’s solo. Crazy stuff

The groove is insane. Makes one want to quit music forever…

The groove actually makes we want to play even more music.

The solos, on the other hand… well, maybe I need to re-evaluate my ambition to play solos myself :joy:

The director barely moves his hand for timing. These people are so awesome that don’t even need someone directing them.

The main job of a conductor is done during the rehearsals. On performance night, he/she just needs to gently remind and nudge the musicians (unless, he/she sees fit to make on-the-fly changes).

Well, at least that is true for professional bands. For amateur bands, the conductor is always important, often to keep the whole thing from falling apart (especially with slightly more complex arrangements; or soloists missing cues etc.). Been there, done that :joy:
