Be Well Brother,

That’s simple, @travis.thepadre.reed, I’m cyclist. In the summer months, there is nothing I love more than getting up before dawn, getting out on the road and chasing the sunrise. Winter here in the UK now, so my pre-dawn rides are in the garage, not quite the same feeling

Outstanding @sunDOG !!!

I also ride the commuter bike daily. This year was my lowest output but still managed to cross the 3,000mi / 5K kms threshold. Unfortunately, this is my second year missing out on the 10,000km club again. oops

However, have two races noted on the 2024 calendar. Will be logging the miles once again and hopefully shooting for the 7,000 training miles this year

Anyway, have a wonderful New Year brother man,
Cheers

Happy New Year Joy to everyone. A new song by Shonen Knife, which always brings a smile.

Have never seen Atsuko play a Hofner (or Noako a Ric).

WWE themes. Some of them are really great, especially those from 2000-2003

Right at this very moment I am listening to tinnitus distraction sounds in my earbuds. I saw an audiologist last month and am now awaiting my first hearing aid to try to more permenantly mask the noise.

But I’m also listening to a lot of Sahara/Toureg-inspired/originated music on a Spotify playlist.

Ah, this sucks - sorry to hear!

This website has some fantastic soundscapes for all types of situations, but especially also to help relieve tinnitus:

Thanks @joergkutter. Luckily for me, the tone I hear is at the high end of the scale so it doesn’t affect my bass hearing. Some music sounds a little less rounded, but the bass is still there. And that’s ALL that matters.

I was just about to head in to the doctor today due to another bout of acute left side hearing loss, but it seems to have mellowed a bit to “normal”-ish tinnitus. Sucks man, I totally feel your high pitched ringing in my ears too

Probably little music for me today though, I am basically monaural for now.

Ach, it comes with age, and for many of us, after years of using power tools ‘like real men’. It was a sudden epiphany when I noticed that the pitch of my tinnitus was exactly the same as the highest electrical whine of some of my power tools.

This morning’s tinnitus mix includes Tibetan monks chanting and banging their breakfast bowls (or something). Looking on the bright side: I’d never have got into that if I hadn’t had the problem.

I had an epiphany after catching up with this thread this morning. I have had tinnitus since an Aerosmith concert in 78. For many years especially at home I have kept background noise up, I always thought it was so there was noise in an otherwise empty house as I am the tenant of my cat who owns the house.

But I bet it’s a coping mechanism for the tinnitus.

Which app or site did you get that tab from? This is also on my bucket list to get started on.

It’s the Pro Tab one.

I started it at about 60 or 70bpm, then over a couple of days increased the speed up to 130bpm, then back down to the songs 122bpm.

It’s a real finger workout; my hand generally starts cramping towards the end of the first section (bad technique!) and I’m preying for the short rap and a break! It’s then two further sprints to the end, broken by a short pause. It’s fun though!!

Ah ok, I will give it a shot. I’ve used Songsterr but it’s not always very accurate. Thanks mate!

To be honest, the image that I originally posted is the bass tab!
