Snarky Puppy - Shofukan (Glastonbury 2022)

There’s so much music out there that it’s easy to have a band or two (or a thousand) slip by. Especially if you don’t really have the patience to wade through the large amount of slop on a regular basis. As such, it drives me nuts when I find some amazing “new to me” band that everyone else has heard of for years.

So I was listening to some Spotify mix and I heard a Led Zeppelin song I was unfamiliar with. I thought “huh, did they release some unreleased songs or put aside their differences and make a new album?” Then I looked at the now playing thing and was like “who in the blue hell is Greta Van Fleet?”. While I know they’re likely old news to people, I’m flat out hooked on them now. Two days ago, I joined the 10,000.

I love this attitude so much.

The feel I got was along the lines of, what if they had made Plainsong in the Bloodflowers era.

Yes very much, very Disintegration era with a modern twist. I love it.

Think of the little Grimes bit at the start as a bonus.

Meanwhile in Florida…

@mr.crispy … Hopefully you are in an area where you can weather it out. I have a sister on the panhandle near Pepsicola and they are bracing for it.

South East Florida, we are so lucky this year! I’ve never filed a claim and my house is only 13 years old, but progressive would not renew this year. I’m afraid of how this storm will affect the whole state. Those poor folks in the eastern panhandle can’t get enough.

The Sabbath worship is strong here, but damn I love everything about this band.

This is my listening now and what I’m planning to learn next :sunglasses: (as in - along term project that I might be able to play at full speed in a year). Love it.
