i have never heard this, from one of my all time favorite bands. surprisingly a little cleaner than what they would ultimately become?
I love that song so much. The bassline just builds so much tension
Such an underrated band in so many ways.
She’s got some pipes! I always loved the vocals and of course the growly deep basslines of this Sevendust track with her.
Oh boy @howard said the magic word, “Synthesizer”. Hear me out kids… These songs (gasp) don’t have a bass guitar but they do have some of the best synth basslines and vocals that I love.
I’m not sure how many times I’ve sung these songs in my life but if anyone wants to do a DM tribute band I might* just be able to cover vocals…
*Will reconsider tomorrow after boxed wine fades
Depeche Mode are amazing. Those are all great songs of theirs too. You’re missing Blue Dress though (one of my personal favorites).
Saw them on the Black Celebration tour! Amazing memories camping out in line the night before, met some girls that ended up becoming dear friends and much more for a couple friends of mine. Still in touch to this day.
I’m missing a WHOLE lot of their great tunes like 40yrs worth
I love love love Depeche Mode!
This 10h hits)
You have to listen to the whole 10 hours to appreciate it. Somewhere between 6 and 9 hours it gets really exciting , forgot where exactly ^^
When I think Depeche Mode, the ones that stand out for me are some of the earlier stuff up through Construction Time Again.
Complete classic. Excellent MBM cover:
The whole cover album that cover is from is fantastic, it’s Sire’s “For The Masses” album of Depeche Mode tributes. Here’s a playlist:
All fantastic, and the MBM cover there, the Rammstein cover of “Stripped”, and Failure’s cover of “Enjoy the Silence” stand out for me as just next-level awesome.
Yeah that era is just fantastic for them.
Oh man! I think that was one of the tapes I lost! that was a hard album to listen to because of the number of times I’ve sung all of those songs over the years. I liked hearing the different arrangements and (gasp) the non-synth versions. The drums in the Smashing Pumpkins cover are amazing.
Not one of them can even touch Dave Gahan’s vocals but Corgan did a great job.
I’ve been thinking about doing a DM bass cover but maybe I should just cover Creep first
Here’s one @howard I’m a fan of the band AFI, but their lead singer has/had a side project Blaqk Audio that is 1000% synth-pop glory. .
Stiff Kittens is so DM it makes me cry. Plus some haunting Piano for effect.
Oh hey, that’s good. I like that as much as AFI actually
Yea Havok is a little strange but as an artist… woh.
