What are you listening to right now?

I love Moroder :star_struck:

The tracklist order looks similar to the one done by a DJ called Chrissy, he made mix tapes every week for a year across a huge range of genres. I listened to them a LOT, including the Moroder one :ok_hand:

He’s the master

Oldie but goodie. Gonna try and work on this for my next cover but my fingers are already screaming at me…that tempo change!

Old dude still is going!

Z is a really fun song to play

Another Van Zandt song. When I learn the complex, shredding bass line on this one I will be able to call myself a bass player.

Just found this band today, they’re a local Denver band… and I happened to notice that the guitarist was also playing bass in the Youtube video (and the bass lines sound simple enough that I could pick them up). I think I’m going to message him tomorrow and see if they’ve got any shows coming up soon around here.

The first audio cassette I’ve bought in years! Thankfully my cassette deck works, I’ve never had cause to use it before.
It’s kinda cool that they appear to be available again from certain bands.
I’ve bought two vinyl albums recently too. 40th Anniversary Powerslave -Iron Maiden, and Lost demo’s by Linkin Park. I had to buy a turntable, but I’ve wanted one for a while anyway

WOW, that’s a blast from the past…

I saw these guys live in a little pub in Hampshire, England.

WAY outside my wheelhouse, because I’m a huge metal head.
But I just started listening to a little folk music (Sara Watkins)

Sometimes I like to revisit bands I listened to in my youth, and sometimes they still do make good music.

@terb 's post of an acoustic guitar in the “music related fun” topic reminded me of this video and I had to go watch. Three things stand out:

  1. ZW absolutely shreds on this acoustic guitar (with added pickup) in this session with the Les Paul Trio
  2. Holy crap, Nicki Parrott on bass is fantastic
  3. And I thought my (video) thumbnails were something. Yeesh!
