Those lyrics might make less sense in Japanese than to you in English

The thing she keeps repeating as the chorus is a suburban neighborhood with its postal code, for example.

Ironically not terribly far from where I live, in fact. Surprised me the first time she rattled it off, I know the 'hood.

Sometimes music is just about the feels

Yes is my oldest, favorite band. I’m used to either not understanding the lyrics or having to work very hard to decipher opaque metaphors.

Shining flying purple wolfhounds still eludes me

HOW TO STAY SANE WITH MUSIC
Selo i Ludy is a band in Kharkiv, Ukraine, a city being decimated by bombing. They have been doing live streams from a bomb shelter, sharing thoughts and feelings about their situation, and trying to provide some joy in the middle of hell.
At 1:10:05, they perform Take On Me by a-ha. The lead singer, Alexander Goncharov, gets the same look on his face that I do when that high note comes in the chorus. Some things are universal, and never change, regardless of circumstance.

OK, let’s chase the youngsters outta here for 10 minutes,

In 2017, Simon Phillips’ (of Toto and Protocol fame) house burnt down in the Thomas Fire. He got away with a car, his better half and a dog, and lost everything else.

I had met him a year earlier. He was kind and helpful, so I thought, let’s pour a wee bit of money into his gofundme.

And then, a week or so ago, a signed CD landed in the snail mail, and that’s in my cd player now.

For those who aren’t familiar with me: watch out. You’ve been warned. It’s jazz.

(damn, I’ll miss @joergkutter…)

I am never further than a bat signal, sorry, @ signal away (or a DM) - just giving the kids some space here

He is super versatile (also played with the Who, Hiromi’s project and many more)! I am not too fond of the earlier Protocol stuff, but the more recent ones have improved a lot. Will def check this out!

Good to see you back in the game, @peterhuppertz - for a while I thought you were MIA in your camper…

In case you missed it, you might want to check out Steve Hunt’s Connections (came out last year) - a veritable AH alumni reunion.

E.g.,:

Got that as soon as it hit the Net. Steve and I get along fairly well.

I have III, IV and V. This one is the best.

So good. They had some classic videos from that era (which was their best era).

I liked Red Light a lot.

Arabian Knights is glorious in its cheesiness in the video too, plus Budgie being like the ultimate '80s guy in the video.

Severin is awesome on bass in that one too.
