Since starting beginner to badass I’ve got hooked on JJ Cale. Nice bass lines
Moving on to some old-school technohouse.
Another of my 70’s favorites!
Cheers

Been listening to the album Excitable Boy by Warren Zevon. It has a lot of black humour, mixing bright upbeat riffs with dark lyrics. There are some real catchy tunes on it including the title track Excitable Boy, Roland the Headless Thompson Gunner, and Lawyers Guns & Money. However the the most famous track is Werewolves of London, which has had a second life on every Spotify Halloween playlist.
The song has a cool bass line by John McVie (the Mac from Fleetwood Mac) with lots of nice short bass slides.
I would love to learn the bass from this song in case anyone ever does a lesson on it!

Also found a revived interest in ELO since watching Jeff Lynne’s ELO at Wembley recently
Warren, at least in my mind, is a song writing legend. His lyrics describe places I have been, things I have done, and he has an awesome way of painting pictures in my mind. Also, he is probably the only songwriter to ever use the word “brucellosis” in a lyric.

Also, check out the guitar player playing the solo on this song! My favorite guitar player of all time. Warren was so much more than “Werewolves of London”.
Oh I agree totally! Werewolves is a good ‘gateway’ to his music, though!
Like your recording much better. The Hatsune Miku one didn’t have enough space for the vocal line. If that makes sense
Love JJ Cale. Great songwriter
New Royal Blood song:
Thank you!
Mixing is hard, and is an ongoing skill a lot of us are developing. Yeah, the guy that posted the Bizarre Love Triangle cover could work on his a bit to bring the vocaloid more to the front.
That’s actually the second mix of the Gary Numan song that I put up - it was my first full cover and I learned a lot about mixing between then and last year, so I remixed it. The original was a lot flatter.
Watching Benn Jordan (Flashbulb) stumble through Bitwig (DAW) for the first time XD
(Honestly he isn’t doing bad)
It’s one of the songs you never get tired of listening to
It’s Friday - let’s hear it:
A great end to a $hitty week, thank you @kristine
Hey, it’s Greek Independence Day today! Last year they had their 200th anniversary of overcoming the Ottoman Empire, after 400 years under it. This version of the Greek national anthem has some information in the description, and the words (enabling captions will give a translation of sorts). It may sound familiar from hearing it played at each Olympic Games opening.
Also, as a bonus: today is Waffle Day in Sweden. So have a waffle - or a baklava!
You’re welcome, @John_E - glad to provide a bright spot. Hope the weekend is better!
Watching Jason Stallworth just BS with followers XD
Diabeetus says no (and I have no low-carb stuff to make low carb bread things)
Take a Viking Metal song about drinking, an old Perfume song from when they were in highschool, throw in some river dance and East European folk dance, and you get a song where Babymetal mock themselves.
The thousands of Joakim Brodins is just icing.
Moa really outdid herself with the choreography.
