What are you listening to right now?

Oh yeah, the original is a classic too! I love this cover though cause it’s not just a mimic of the original, but a completely different genre and it stands on its own merit

I’m a bit late to the party, but I just discovered Jill Scott’s To Whom This May concern…If I weren’t only on Module 5  , I would love to try playing Preshaaa or Offadaback !

My favourite recording of my favourite Joy Division song. For those too young or insufficiently British to know, John Peel was a legendary BBC Radio 1 DJ who played stuff no-one else would touch.

Joy Division - Ceremony. Hooky’s best bassline but someone has AI’d Ians vocals so they are audible.

I love this version of 24 hours, I’ve tried the album version a bunch of times, I can get the beginning down and it’s super fun to play. It gets too hard for me after that. I prefer version 1 of Ceremony off of the single with In A Lonely Place (Fac. 33). I’ll be recording a couple of Hooky bass lines for the cover thread this weekend.

I’m a superfan and I don’t think I could narrow down a single best Hooky bassline

Ceremony is beautiful though.

With Tomo-zo on hiatus (new mother), she will be replaced by Saki (Mary’s Blood, Nemophila) on guitar for Doll$boxx. No word on G-Spin

Michael Jackson admitted to lifting the baseline for Billie Jean from this song

In an 80s mood

Tomo-zo is the bandleader for that one so it’s cool they are going on while she’s having her baby.

This is the second or third time I have seen bands on hiatus because one of the band members was pregnant. Great to see these folks kicking ass without having to give up other parts of their life.

The closest thing I remember for a western alternative band was when Kira Roessler forced Ginn and Rollins to pause Black Flag while she finished college

I love this!

Hey, here’s a cool band name!
