Here’s a memorable moment. Peter Hook & The Light playing Love Will Tear Us Apart, with his son Jack Bates on bass (both on bass! If one bass is awesome, two is even better, at least in this case). So awesome! Imagine being there! This was live in Manchester, 2022.

Jack’s awesome, he’s the Smashing Pumpkins touring bassist now.
The Light is actually Monaco, Hooky’s old band, minus one guy plus Jack.

Recently got into ELP. And I’m so glad I did! Some of the best stuff ever made!
I had browser windows of Steve OGs album reaction and interview with two of the band members up for a month before I finally got around to listening. Their background is in different metalcore bands before getting really into acoustic Irish folk music and then just leaning into making delightfully chaotic Irish folk metal.
In a wild bit of luck it turns out they’ll be playing near me in a couple of weeks so I’m super excited to hear them in person!
