Mindphaser was their best known song as FLA, yeah. Really they had a lot of great stuff over the years. Amazingly diverse, too. This was their biggest hit (as Delerium), which I am sure you will recognize.
Oh, yeah! Some great Toots and the Maytals! Gregory Isaacs also had some great bass lines.
I watch this guy a couple times a week; he’s a retired composer and offers good insight occaisionally, and is a lot more down to earth than Beato
But this one, of course, Kate, need I say more?
Ok who else immediately thought Pogues
Easy is one of my most favorite tunes.
Jinjer are from the Ukraine, and were set to be the opener for Slipknot this year until the war. Still a new song
Oh, why not. . .
“Part 1” only, a 1973 (or 1974?) BBC televised version. It differs from original vinyl recording, but it’s interesting to see the various instruments being played.
*Edited to add (per the Musical Instruments page at Tubular.net):
- On the original vinyl recording, Michael Oldfield played a Fender Telecaster Bass, which he borrowed from Phillip Newell (a live and studio engineer, and a producer).
- For the “2nd House” live performance in the above video, Michael played a “1960 Fender Precision Bass, blonde, s/n 48986.” Other bassists who played in the live performance were Fred Frith - bass, guitar, and Ted Speight - guitar, bass.
Does anyone know how to play the bass riff that starts about 18.5 mins in ?
