What are you listening to right now?

Yoko Kanno has got to be fun to work with

You have to love your bandleader just rocking out to air guitar in her bathroom

She totally looks like just a delightful person. Always loved that about her.

She’s been absolutely beloved by fans for 30+ years now and she’s still visibly surprised by their adulation.

Leading in with “Voices” from Macross Plus was guaranteed to please this crowd too

New Babymetal

Wow. They’re grown up, and Su is credited as one of the song writers.

I thought the break they took would signal a change, and it seems it’s a new direction

right now i’m listening to my wife yell at me to take out the garbage :expressionless:

Speaking of jazz, I noticed my PBS station is showing a special on Ron Carter “Ron Carter: Finding the Right Notes”:

The life and career of jazz musician Ron Carter, the most recorded bassist in history, featuring original concert footage and insights from jazz icons.

I thought I’d try to catch it, since I’m not familiar with his work (as far as I know). I’m not sure if the program would be available online or not after it is broadcast.

I’ll look for it. I can dvr it

The show is on tonight in my area, but might be televised at other times elsewhere.

I just added it to my library. this smartphone stuff is occasionally helpful

Really loving this song lately. Takes on a new meaning when you hit middle age. The music video is cringe-funny so here’s a 2011 live show. Neil Peart :broken_heart:

Lovebites has named their new bassist - Fami

No surprise to me, been watching her videos for a couple years, which are notable because she is always masked. Well those days are gone.

Be interesting to see if black is the new color for them.

Surf’s up!

Haven’t heard this album in decades (it’s still damn good), found it last week in Brooklyn, popped it on tonight and can sing along to most of the whole damn thing without knowing I could. Can’t remember last Tuesday.

Brains are fascinatingly frustrating.

One of the many OVA and movies set in that general universe, yeah. She did the music.

i only ever saw a few of the cartoons, but had the 20-book 4-series novelization.

You might like Macross Zero - it’s a prequel kind of telling the story of Roy Fokker’s character. Came out maybe 10 years ago.
