However a somewhat less known band that absolutely blows me away is Polyphia. The guitar player, Tim Henson is absolutely insane. Might be my favorite instrumental band. The drummer is also incredible, the hi-hat work in some of their songs just blows me away. I know this is a bass forum and the bassist here is amazing as well, they gel so well together, I can’t get enough.

Honestly as good as Henson is it’s their drummer that consistently blows me away.
Polyphia’s fantastic across the board, and good on them for bringing math rock mainstream.

Agreed! I could listen to these guys all day. I saw they’re going on tour after the release of the new album but sadly the closest venue to me is in Texas, not a single west coast show

I know! I figured they would do at least one show in LA or even come to Seattle, but they’re heading off to the UK after hitting TX and east coast. Super bummed, but hopefully they’ll release more dates toward the end of 2023, been dying to see them live
