I’m also new but I’ve seen that Pam is loved around here. I hope she’s comfortable and dreaming about being a Badass Base Girl a lot.
Thanks for the update @John_E
If you should speak to Pam or Sara please send my best wishes
I have her home address:
Pam Anders
27940 N. Quartz Drive
San Tan Valley AZ 85143
United States
Sara will get whatever too her.
Thank you @John_E
I haven’t been commenting on the forum because I have frequent quivering and shaking on both hands, which leads to spending more time editing than actual typing.
I’m completely bedridden now, which is the main reason I’m in a hospice facility. It’s hard to imagine two years ago I was talking to bands about becoming their bassist, and now I have to use the nurse-call button to get my underwear changed.
The highlight of my stay was the nurse told me they need to get my weight. I desperately tried to sign to her that I am unable to stand (none of the nurses here seem to know ASL). She finally got it and stated she already knew.
She left my room, only to return a few minutes later, pushing what resembled a hoist capable of lifting an engine from a car.
She then wrestled a tarp under me, pushed the hoist close to my bed, hooked it up to the 4 grommets on the tarp, and with a magical whirr, I was floating above my bed and looking down on my room! I felt like I was on my way to heaven (I hope they have an all-you-can-eat buffet).
Well, that’s all folks. Now to spend the next two hours transforming this comment from “Stupid to Lucid”.
You’re still badass…to the bone
Pam… you rule. That’s all I am going to say.
it would be the least of things
Awesome, Pam. In a way, I’m happy to see that your famous spirit is still very much intact.
Pam, you are the queen of badass!
you are fucking amazing.
You continue to be an inspiration, Pam!!
And your writing is more lucid than what some of us here “publish”
Glad to see you still have a good humour, please do keep it during the rougher times ahead… it makes everything better!
I’ve only “known” you for a couple of months, but you are an inspiration!
Thank you Pam for sharing your time with us!
Wow… what can I say …what a great character
Thank you for your update Pam
You are an inspiration, Pam!
I have been wrapped up in my own stuff and hadn’t seen this.
Pam, You are an inspiration. When i first started this and joined the forum i thought it would be a normal forum experience. And then you introduced yourself.
You were kind to a stranger without it benefiting you. I don’t know what what i could say that personifies more.
In everything I’ve seen on this, you’ve shown courage, strength and dignity.
Thank you, pam. I consider it an honor to know you-even just what you’ve shared here.
All the best for you and Sarah from me and my family.
P.s. the rose remains.
Wow Pam. I can’t believe that you are managing to post to this wonderful forum despite everything that you are dealing with right now. But thank you for doing so. I was wondering how you were and i love reading your beautiful posts.
What you said about how 2 years ago you were looking for a band and now being severely restricted in what you can do and living in a hospice, really resonated with me. I am 67, i took up the bass around 12 months ago. I love playing. But so many of my friends now are ill with various serious and even terminal conditions. Oftentimes these things appear out of the blue and someone who was previously healthy and fit is suddenly dealing with all sorts of issues. That could be any of us folks. That realisation has actually made me very positive about my life. I now make time to do things i enjoy (e.g. playing bass in public) and don’t put things off to some future date.
Pam, i really want to thank you for so bravely and openly sharing with us what you are going through. Many people have already said this, but you really are inspirational.
Carpe diem everyone!
Love and light to you Pam for your next awfully big adventure.
Like I would say in portuguese, “que mulher do c#ralho”. Roughly translates to “what a f#cking woman”.
Pammy! Even though I’ve been AWOL around here for the last year or so, I still feel I can speak for all of us when I say we love and miss you and you’re always in our thoughts.
I wish we could do something, anything, to make it all go away. But since we can’t, know that we send love, support, thoughts, and prayers.
Best,
JD
@PamPurrs

Sending comforting prayers to you Pam! Thanks for being so inspiring and someone we can look up to. Godspeed!
