What should I use?

Hello everyone!

I’ve been playing bass for the past 2 years, but I knew that I lack some solid technique foundation, even though I managed to play a gig with a band . So, I decided to buy this course and start over because I really want to get better, especially in the field of music theory.

To not bug you with details, I wonder what should I use: the 4 string bass or the 5 string bass. The better one is the 5 string, that’s the bass I’m usually playing, but during the courses Josh uses a 4 string and I don’t want to miss something essential when he’s explaining the plucking technique and so on.

What should I do? Thank you all

Honestly, play the one you feel most comfortable with. I have both as well, but to me the 5 string feels a bit weird to play. Doing the course with the 5 string should not be a problem.

Use what you plan on playing the most.

You won’t do the course just once, so you can start with what you are comfortable with and repeat with 4 string for a fresh take.

If you like your 5 stick with it. After all you have to do is just use the B string as a thumb rest to follow the course

This. Use the fiver if it’s the one you like better.
