I’ve got a first-issue Staccato full size. Badass is a.very appropriate descriptor.
If you liked Rose McIver in Ghosts USA and are into light entertainment, watch iZombie.
She is adorable, especially in the first seasons.
Also: Rahul Kohli played in iZombie and went on to do Midnight Mass. If you haven’t seen it: don’t google what’s it about and then binge watch it. I was blown away by that!
By the way: I started rewatching True Detective, and the first season is even better than I remembered. This is how a detective show should be done. Also the soundtrack is not bad - no jazz, yay
Thanks for the tip!
I assume that you went througfh the classics, like Breaking Bad or Mr Robot?
Last but not least: I found The Last of Us also very good. On an emotional level much better than Walking Dead. I was very shocked by the events in the 2nd episode (or was it the 3rd?).
I came to appreciate Pedro Pascal a lot through this series, so I rewatched Narcos. And Narcos Mexico, just because…
Also great series…
Ahh, so that’s why she looked somewhat familiar. I watched iZombie years ago, when it was in our local Netflix. I can’t remember if I watched the whole series, but I think at least half. It was a lot of fun! I enjoyed it a lot.
I watched Midnight Mass and loved it! It was very surprising and different from what I imagined it would be.
I’m glad you like it! I love the animations and music from the intro. It is an awesome series.
I have never watched Mr. Robot, but I love Breaking Bad! It was awesome. Sometimes incredibly funny. And the dark humor too. The scene with the turtle! I love how the series starts and everything kinds of snowballs into danger and chaos. Very good acting too.
Have you watched Weeds? Kind of in the same area, but lighter and funnier.
The Last of Us is great. A friend who loves the game on which it was based recommended the series, and I loved it. Very good acting from Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey. The infected are so much more interesting than zombies. It’s very creepy.
For some reason this reminded me of the movie Annihilation, with Natalie Portman. It was a very interesting movie with lots of strange things.
I watched one or two seasons of Walking Dead but it started to feel every episode was very much the same, running and screaming. I wanted to know how everything started and what would happen in the end, but I soon got tired of it.
I watched Narcos too. It was very good. I think maybe I watched after Breaking Bad or after watching a movie or series about Pablo Escobar, so Narcos was on the same theme. I also watched Griselda. It was interesting. Very dramatic.
Amazing I love this show so much. And also Fringe!
The Whole Yellow submarine.
The Fringe is awesome! I only watched it twice because it’s a long series, so starting it again is a huge commitment of time.
The IT Crowd is one of my favourite shows. I wish they had made more seasons. But because it is so short, it is easy to watch it often. My favourite character is Moss. But they are all great! I love that scene when Moss regains consciousness and as he opens his eyes, we hear the Windows startup sound.
Matt Berry as Douglas is so funny! One of my favourite scenes is when he is leading a very sexy aerobics session. It cracks me up every time!
“Have you tried turning it off and on again?”
0118 999 881 999 119 725… 3
I knew I wouldn’t be able to keep this message short.
Speaking of Matt Berry, who here has watched What We Do in the Shadows? So funny!
Loved it! Except the last season, which did not do anything for me…
You inspired me to watch this one tonight
Nice, I have a Duty One 5.0 from when they were STI.
Cool. The former STI factory, now the Staccato factory, is just north of me.
Ok, I rewatched the first three seasons.
The actors in all three seasons are truly great, sometimes at their all time best.
Great soundtrack (mostly), no pretentious jazz!
- The first season is the best. Usually I don’t like Matthew McConaughey, but here he was excellent
- The second season was great at the end. Before ist was treading around in circles a little.
- I remembered the 3rd season as being better, but I have the same issue as the main protagonist, or so it seems. I found the story strangely weak and full of plot holes.
But anything with Mahershala Ali is a must see. He was also great in House of Cards. What a voice!
Time to rewatch “The Killing” with young but great Joel Kinnaman and of course the enigmatic Mireille Enos…
If you can find it, check out “Counterparts” - brilliant series! Kind of whacky premise, but it makes for a perfect backdrop not only for a cold war/spy/mystery plot, but even more so allowing the actors to really flex by playing the same person who has developed very differently over time. JK Simmons delivers!
And it’s all really cool to ponder what kind of “decisions” in our lives made us the ones we are today.
Underrated! Weird and cool! Great production! Great acting!
J. K. Simmons was great in that, as was Nazanin Boniadi (yeah, the ex of Tom Cruise … but google that story!).
Nazanin Boniadi was excellent in Homeland and very sexy in How I met your mother. She can play very different types. Impressive!
Just googled it. I will put it on (the end of) my list.
Emily Meade plays in it. She was in “The Leftovers” (cool, but very sad atmosphere all the time) and of course played her heart out in the phantastic “The Druce” with an unbelievably great James Franco.
Love the theme of “The Deuce”:
(Hell, is that Jazz, @joergkutter ??? :-))
Yes, in my opinion too the first season was the best. I liked the others too. All good actors, well chosen for their parts, and their characters seem so real because we get to see through their eyes. Matthew McConaughey as Rust Cohle was great. He made his character come to life, with all his troubles, traumas and his dark side.
The 4th season doesn’t seem to fit in with the others, because of all the supernatural atmosphere, but it was mysterious enough to glue the viewers to the screen.
I’m glad I watched this series. A friend had been talking about it and recommending it for years, then I finally decided to check it out, and it was so awesome. It seems they are planning a 5th season.
Have you watched Swedish detective series? They are usually awesome.
The Bridge is a great detective series.
I can also recommend Deadwind, a Finnish detective series. It’s great!
I checked from IMDB and it seems very interesting! Thanks! I will watch it if I can find it.
I watched the UK/French version and the US/Mexican version.
As I watch always non-dubbed original versions I cannot watch anything scandinavian, sorry, cause I always have to think of the Swedish Chef and laugh all the time
Hell, yeah!
Wow, not all Jazz is bad!
Maybe only that pretentious masturbating non-danceable getting-on-my-nerves stuff?
