What's the deal with effects and pedals? (Also: sound in general)

@Mark_UK thank you! glad to be on the slope - I brought my skates

@John_E ooooh, I guess I need to starting thinking about that

Of course you keep them on a nice big pedal board you’re going to buy, with lots of space for future additional pedals yet to be bought, wired to expensive low noise power supplies mounted underneath the board that you will also buy, of course. :grinning:
Yup it’s a slope alright.

Pedals are super fun. Always get em used on reverb and sell back the ones you don’t want to keep.

Thanks for the advice! This first one was $25; seemed like a cheap gateway into pedals, but going forward…do I mention your name when I go to buy?

Hah, they might charge you more if you do that

@John_E @eric.kiser What’s a good Bluetooth pedal that lets you program what key it presses on a keyboard? I read about a few page flippers that give you a choice between PgUp PgDn and arrows. I want to be able to map any key press.

I have the iRig Blue turn but use it with my ipad, but does not work with Windows.
If you find one, let me know…

Are you talking about a wireless midi dongle? Yamaha has those, I almost bought a Quicco Sound mi.1 II Wireless Midi Adapter. It sends and receives midi signals over bluetooth.

That’s pretty cool and I can see wanting that too for other reasons.

I’m wanting to mash a key on my PC using a foot switch. For example, the backing track player on ultimate guitar resets to the top of the piece or the top of the loop point if you press the backspace key.

I think this will work.

Hee heee. I. I could put a Bluetooth keyboard on the floor and put some push rods in a rack over it.

Several of the ‘tablet’ ones work with PC as well, and have different modes, not really ‘programmable’ like the other ones above, which look glitchy.

This one allows you to program as well…

Looks like I bought the wrong one, only does ipad. :rage:

This one will work (I think)?

That entire product line looks good.
I am running out of room at my feet, so I like the smaller one you found.
