Hello everyone! I need your help to understand which amp is best suited for my purposes.
We are a small combo accompanying a choir: bass, cajon, and piano. The choir consists of about 20 women. Music style: pop, Latin, sometimes a little jazz. We play on smaller stages, sometimes with an audience of 50 people, but sometimes with 200.
Which amp do you think would work well for this? I play a Squier CV 60s Jazz Bass.
Thank you very much for your ideas and best regards from Berlin,
Frederik
That would depend on your budget and the desire size. Are you the only one putting through the amp or are you sharing.
If money is no object and you want smaller size, I’d suggest one of the two options the Genzler 10-2 combo or the Genzler Acoustic Pro. The 10-2 is good for 5 people to 200 and weight in around 22 lbs. the Acoustic Pro is a bit bigger but it comes with second input for mic with build in effect, it can come in handy. Both are great but can be pricey.
The bonus is that the 10-2 can grow with your need. You can stack it 3 high with the Array Tweeters it sounds so good. I found and excuse to put 3 up a few times, clearly overkill.
You could ask the same question at bassic.de, zzzee ZZZzzerman bass site.
They will not only give you good advice, but more importantly: it’s likely that somebody in your area has something that fits your requirements, so you can test & purchase!
