Which headphones do you have and ACTUALLY use?

That’s awesome. FiiO K11 regular or the R2R. I have both and the K13 R2R the sound is pretty much identical which is a good thing.

Congrats on the DayBreak, you’ll love it. It’s probably the cheapest Tribrid set you can get and if you AutoEQ then it would cover most of the “Meta” sets. When I ordered other set and wait I’d AutoEQ the DayBreak and see how it’d match and 90% it gets to 90% because they are using the same drivers. Can’t really do that with “Branded” drivers as some are custom tuned.

Okay, silly question time. These look cool. But, what are you using IEM’s for? I have on-the-ear Sony’s for bass practice, and bluetooth for when I run with my iPhone. How do you use IEM? Bass practice, Music, other? Thanks.

Thanks! I got the regular version. The Daybreak arrive sunday or monday, I got them because i figured they’d fill a spot between the hexa and the timeless

I’m listening on my 560S right now, I listened to Led Zepplin IV and i can hear a lot of problems with the original recordings so that’s… good i guess  Now I’m listening to Daft Punk - RAM. I got to one song and i thought “man this sounds amazing!” I looked and it was Giorgio by Moroder which was a song that Gemini had suggested.

That’s a good question. I have a few custom IEMs for my gigs but nowadays I just use the universal IEMs for most my gigs.

The rest of the IEMs are for music listening. Each brand seem to have their house tuning and each model is different from one another. Some are pretty awesome but some are just fun but not accurate, but fun.

Audiophile hobby is pretty much about manipulating frequencies to reference standard or add color to shape the style.

Yeah it’d fall smack in the middle. It’s warmer and has better bass definition than the Hexa and much smoother treble and cleaner mid than Timeless I&2. You’ll like it.

When you get your DayBreak go to Squiglink and AutoEQ the Reference, I think SuperReview has the graph. It’s pretty flat.

Here’s what’s going to blow your mind, the CrinEar Cypher. All metal shell Greenish matte shade, slightly warmer than DayBreak for $99. I spent 20 minutes on it at CanJam. I couldn’t believe how good it sound. I actually talked to Crin for a bit, that boy is tall man, on the video he looks like he’s 5’6” in reality he’s like 6’2”

now that i’ve actually thrown in my hat into the world of bedroom producing with ableton, i went and got what is for me the nicest pair of headphones i’ve ever owned, the beyerdynamics 770 pro X. and although they aren’t state of the art cans they are very very impressive as far as i am concerned. the free companion calibration app is nice too. they really do make mixing a lot easier, especially sitting in my dining room with 2 cats going bananas and my wife in the kitchen listening to the same drum looped four thousand times in a row.

They are very good. They would be a top choice for me for closed back; I love my 990 Pros.

Yeah! Those are great!
I got the very cheap knockoff version: Superlux HD-660 Pro, for 36€.

In the old days I would have NEVER gotten one of those!!!
So, I could listen to both the Beyerdynamics & the Superlux (hate the name).
The Beyerdynamics are better in every respect, but the difference is not as significant as I thought. Anyway, the Superlux are for recording in the park, so they get thrown in the mud, abused by park punks and stuff like that. I wouldn’t dare to use those Beyerdynamics for that.

This is what does not work with my Superlux, cause you need to have a Beyerdynamics serial# for it to work.

I have trouble being so small with in ear anything , the foam piece keeps pushing out of the ear canal so, I use both Waza air and Waza air bass.

900 X is better for mixing/mastering  and it also helps if you have some hearing loss to tolerate that signature Beyerynamic treble

You can tame it

The hearing loss, not so much
