The more I watch this guy the more I like him. Honestly considering that 10 Minute Fretboard course he mentioned now.

He’s got some great videos, definitely a good watch.

It’s very good. I have both of his current courses and will buy the following 10 minute courses as he releases them.

This is so brilliant! Thanks for sharing. This is exactly what I need to practice and learn, because I can’t improvise. It probably will take a lot of practicing before I can do that in the real tempo with a track, and even more before I can jam with other people.

I especially like his emphasis on learning the notes, not only the fingerings of the scale.

I have been watching videos about improvising and fills. The one you posted is gold.

This is also a great video by Mark Smith (he has lots of great videos on his channel)

Ryan Madora also has great videos on the subject of scales and fills:

Dan Hawkins also have lots of good videos on his channel:

These are all excellent videos to practice after the BassBuzz course. Learning to improvise and creating fills. One also needs to develop a good sense of rhythm. @Barney often mentioned BeatBuddy, which sounds like an excellent tool.

I feel I need to develop my confidence with playing diatonic notes all around the fretboard and learn improvisation and fills, and after that it would be easier to do it with a tempo. Right now, if I try with a track, I get nervous and lost very quickly. But at least I know what I need to improve.

Dan’s a great guy. I’ve had a couple of private conversations with him. His wife is from around Biarritz, near me. Mark is excellent. I have all of Dan’s courses, and most of Mark’s. I like listening/watching Ryan, but I struggle actually learning from her.

I like Ryan. I feel all of them have a lot to teach.

I just couldn’t include SBL to the list, because Scott can be incomprehensible when he is excited about something. He plays something really fast and says “See? See?”. It feels one needs to already have a solid background before one can learn from him. He is the opposite of Josh.

I’m so glad I found the BassBuzz course and started learning from there. I also had lessons in person with a bass teacher, but I’ve learned a lot more from the BtoB course. As a beginner, it was so extremely helpful to have the beat bar, and the visual aids like the scales and triads.

After BtoB, I felt I learned a lot, but was (and still kind of am) like a bird fledgling who has just left the nest and have growing up to do. In the beginning I missed the beat bar. TalkingBass has helped a lot to become more independent. I’m going through The Groove Trainer and I’m enjoying it a lot. All these other teachers from youtube also have amazing and helpful videos.
