My all time favorite Kinga clip…you cannot have more fun playing a bass than she does in this tune. She has so much fun she can’t even finish…
Zombierella (Svetlana Nagaeva) from Messer Chups. I’ve seen them live, they’re fantastic. Zombierella plays like a machine with and air of “I ain’t bovvered”, I love her character. She either plays on a Fender Precision or a Danelectro.
Messer Chups is a 3 persons band, no roadies, they travel light and their genre is a niche.
They sound like a Quentin Tarantino’s movie.
Blu did an Instagram Live last night where she teased a new album and tour. No sound samples but it seems she will be making an announcement on these things soon-ish!
Now that’s the bass player with the most unimpressed look in the face I have ever seen. I guess it’s part of her stage persona, but she looks like a person who’s simply going to brush some dust off her dress after a cataclysm and move on.
It’s surf rock - not such a niche ![]()
Yes!!! Love MINA and the tone on that song is superb!!!
Definitely worth another mention: Nicole Row (formerly with Panic! At The Disco, and now with Incubus):
I can’t wait to see her stuffs in a few more years. Her works with others has been so awesome. It seems her album is more speed than spine chilling tones. I’m surprised there’s no ballad on her album. She’s got the chops for sure.
She’s definitely got the chops (boatloads), but needs to find a way to use them for music instead of pyrotechnics all the time. I am sure she’ll figure it out as she grows ![]()
She already has. She has great finger tone.
Charles Berthoud is probably one of the best technical bassist in this generation but his music is so sanitized it has no soul.
these guys just showed up on my facebook feed. i have no idea if it’s good or not because i’m at work and can’t listen to it ![]()
The Villarreal sisters, Alejandra on bass. The are very good. Check out Evolve when you get a chance
Is that the family band from Mexico City? Yeah they were cool.
Indeed, they are da bomb
Just saw a Mina signature at Ikebe Bass House Ikebukuro:
She apparently plays Sago basses.
The Japanese there reads “To the Bass House staff, as always, thank you!”
hunh. I did not know this. from FB misfits fan club:
“It’s hard to imagine the Misfits without Jerry Only. But an early lineup of the band was just that. Before Jerry joined, the original bassist was Diane DiPiazza. A friend of Glenn’s, Diane was part of the band that was filled out with Jimmy Battle on guitar and Manny Martinez on drums.
Unfortunately, no photos of this lineup seem to exist publicly. Nor are there any recordings of this era circulating.
Diane DiPiazza is a graphic artist known for font design and various other styles of media.
She is the Diane who is thanked on the back of the Cough/Cool 7”."
Whoa
