Women on Bass

Saw boygenius on SNL last night. First time seeing these ladies. On one of the songs they had 2 bass players! Not sure if that is their standard configuration but I enjoyed it!

How do Sago compare with the most popular brands?

They are high end custom made instruments that list for $3-4k.

And this is where the bass player (Juna Serita) plays the sax and trades places with the sax player who plays the bass instead.

Oh hey, so she’s moved on from Girlfriend? They’ve been broken up for years so it makes sense. For some reason I had thought she was trying to keep it going.

She’s said she doesn’t want another band, but I hope she does move on. She is talented and I wish she would find people more compatible. She is a player.

Yeah I got the feeling she was kind of clinging to Girlfriend and/or burned out. She still uses it in her self marketing I think.

Still, she’s like 24, plenty of time for other bands.

Yup, she’s still Mina_GF_Band on her socials

Another thing she did this week on her Sago

It’s her first bass from 12/13. She is completely self taught - never a lesson in her life.

She got a Sago when she was 13 years old? Lucky kid

So she has about 11 years playing experience then, checks out.

Playing + singing :exploding_head:

Big fan of Grace, have you checked out her EP?

Suzie Quatro - underrated fantastic bass player still touring in her 70ies. In my opinion, she belongs into the Rock’n Roll Hall of Fame

Cool! She even looks like a female Steve Harris  Wrong brand of bass though, I think

Yeah, I think she is sponsored by G&L, so it’s sort of a look alike, but it’s a PJ style.
