Zoom effects processors

My pleasure! That guy’s site is gold. Great resource.

Truely.
@howard , do You have any other pot-o-gold research sites about other items?

Not as much as that one. Mostly I’ve used youtube gear reviews. There’s a few excellent channels; BassTheWorld is a good place to start.

Speaking of which, if you want an excellent drive/DI

For me that wouldn’t work because I want my modulation effects after my distortion. But I do own a (non-DI) Microtubes X and like it a lot. Still not sure it’s worth the money but I do like it.

(The X7 and Ultra are interesting as the have a mid-chain compressor that is for a specific effect and so make sense to put anywhere. They crunch the low end to get a specific sound.)

LOL at “This one has a parallel output that you can send… I dont know, somewhere else. Maybe a gift for your Mom.” I Love BassTheWorld.

I haven’t seen much Zoom talk in this here Zoom thread as of late. :joy:

Start some!

Zoom boxes are such a great way to learn about and play with a ton of effects on the cheap. I basically learned exactly what I liked and wanted from mine.

They are especially awesome for playing with pedal ordering, since it’s trivial to change in the patch editor.

I’ll have to have something to talk or ask about first, then… but mine is still in transit. I expect to get it on Tuesday.

Yeah, the Zoom is a multi fix processor, so it naturally brings up questions about types of effects, and conversation about what the Zoom does well, what it does not so well, and what specific products the Zoom is copying.

It is great way to learn about the Zoom and extra pedal fix products, but we can jump to another thread to keep this on topic if that’s what is best per forum guidelines.

Just ordered my Zoom B1X Four as my first pedal and exposure to that whole world of possibilities. It looks like it will be a ton of fun to play around with when it gets here. Thanks for all the great tips in this thread.

That makes three of us then – @PamPurrs has a B1X Four, and I expect to get mine next Tuesday.

Mine might not be here until the 11th. I’m the kind of guy that can’t finish the drive home before I’m opening the box to my new toy. Waiting a week and a half for a pedal is a first world problem for sure, but man do I hate the wait!

Please let us know how you like it when you get it.

Haha. Hehhehheh.
Trying to prevent me from telling how I like it would be an exercise in futility.

I think there are quite a few people here who have the B1x Four, however I think I’m the only one who got one to match my bass

Nothing at all wrong with being color-coordinated, Pam @PamPurrs

My compliments on your good taste . . .

Yes. They should have stuck to black.

That is why I have the B1Four and not the B1x-Four. Well, that and another reason.

The B14 was available for next day delivery, the B1x-4 was “ships in 5-7 days.
Then when watching a gear facts review of both of them on YouTube, they said the expression pedal took up one of the 5 banks in the chain, and, even tho the B14 does not have an input for an expression pedal, like previous models, you could add one to the chain.

That made me feel better about not wanting to wait a week or more.

My B1-4 matches my GSR200 too @PamPurrs.

I don’t know where you may have acquired that information, but it’s not true. I have the expression pedal (which I love), and still have 5 banks of effects.

Gear facts on YouTube. Oh well, they wronged me. I still have no regrets. Happy with the $30 savings then. Lol :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

Does this not mean the expression takes up one of the patches? I ask because I don’t have one to actually try it.

No. This only means that in each effect you can set what the expression pedal does or doesn’t do. You still get the full 5 banks of effects with or without the expression pedal.

@Howard is the expert on this subject, so maybe he can explain it better.

Actually I think it does mean the expression pedal takes up one pedal slot in patches that use it. Could be wrong though. Neither of mine had the expression pedal.

Each patch on the zoom has several slots for effects pedal chains, where you put the individual effect pedal models. Amp and cab sims take up slots, as does the looper. It looks like the expression pedal might too, for patches that use it.

But like I said I could be wrong, would need to read the manual, which I am sure describes it.
