Zoom effects processors

Hi @PamPurrs,
Now I see the big differences between the 2.
There is no expression pedal on this one?

No there isn’t an expression pedal, but there is a input for one. I ordered one and should have it tomorrow.

@PamPurrs
I was just about to ask if you didn’t think the expression pedal was important, but you just answered it for me.
I will now have a closer look at the 3.
I was looking around over here yesterday for the b1xfour and they are not readily available in Melbourne, one retailer has stock interstate,
Now I will look at the 3 and the expression pedal as a plug in option.
If you don’t mind me asking, what did the package cost over there? And was does the four cost there.
Cheers

Which expression pedal did you get?

This one. The one Zoom sells is twice the price. I’m pretty sure this one will work, but won’t know for sure until I get it.

This might give you some relief. It may keep the GAS Ghouls at bay for a bit. At least a week while you thoroughly learn this unit and explore it completely.
Well, maybe 3-5 days:joy::joy::joy::joy:

I’m curious what people think of the sound of the Zoom compared to the same types of TC Electronics Toneprint sounds?

I’ve had the Corona Chorus and Flashback delay pedals on my digital piano for awhile now because I love to sit and play a sea of arpeggios and zone out into kind of a film underscoring world of rolling moods. (There’s also a Polara reverb in that sea which is one of my favorite sounds ever.)

Since I had experience with liking a couple Toneprint pedals, I figured the Plethora X5 is a pretty good deal since you get 5 slots to insert anything except distortion from the Toneprint line and the whole thing costs less than 2 pedals. It does, however, cost a LOT more than the Zoom.

My Plethora arrived with a bad display, so it has to go back. I have a chance to change over to the Zoom.

@DaveT I got the Expression pedal I ordered and it’s a bust. It has a switch on the bottom and didn’t work in either position. To make matters worse, the users guide is in Chinese.
It’s going back to Amazon in the morning.
I ordered the Zoom one. It’s more money but at least I know it’ll work.

Thanks for saving me the trouble!

Did you get an expression pedal for the B3n?
And it was a TC Electronics brand?

I have heard a few issues with TC Electronics. @howard with an amp, @DaveT with the plethora and you @PamPurrs with an expression pedal?

I have a bit of TC Electronics, and was fortunate to never have that problem. I did just return a Spectra Comp Pedal today, but I bought it with the likelihood that it would go back. I LOVED the tone print feature, and found some decent prints, but I found a better option for compression and want the refund money to get a Source Audio Aftershock Pedal, which has its own tone print style feature, but no cool Star Trek beaming.

I also have a TC Electronics fuzz pedal that is going back to GC because the aftershock is a better option for fuzz, and the TC Electronics fuzz, not bass specific (although says it can be used on bass) is very fuzzy, a good fuzz, but it sucks out too much bottom end, so It is going back, not because it’s broken or bad, because I tried it, and it’s not my best option.

Not sure what I will do with GC credit, but it’s not much, it was only a $50 pedal.

@T_dub It was this one. Much cheaper than the Zoom one that I know for sure will work with the B3n. Oh well, I tried to save some money but ended up ordering the Zoom expression pedal after all.

This is the Zoom one I just ordered.

Hmmmm, yeah, at that price I suppose it would be hit or miss. I would have been more concerned with it being compatible with the B3n as opposed to it flat out not working.
Was it just not compatible, or did it flat out just not work?

It didn’t work, so I guess it’s not compatible LOL
