What slayed me was the owners guide is written in Chinese. WTF!
Where was it made? Hahaha
Pretty soon we may all need to know enuf Chinese to get thru an instruction booklet? Ugggg!!!
Then again, it’s all Chinese to me!!!
What really chaps my ass, I didn’t even get a fortune cookie with it.
You are good at this. For some reason I think you could do this all day.
I think you should join my future band which I have named long ago. It’s just what I call myself when I mmmmm, shock or startle people that don’t know me very well.
something like, “relax, I am a” or, “if you are gonna be hanging around me you will have to come to grips with the fact that I am”
A PATHALOGOCAL SMART ASS.
The band will be The Pathalogical Smart Asses, naturally.
Holy Cow! I just got my Zoom Expression Pedal. I had no idea it would be this HUGE!

At least you won’t miss it
Actually a problem with gigs I had when playing guitar. Starting with not having my own effect pedal and not ending with “did I… did I hit it? I’m not sure… If I try again I’ll still don’t know AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!” I’m not sure if it was a model without a little LED lamp to indicate if it’s on or off or if it was broken but those thoughts are not good thoughts on stage
Damn. That sounds great. I want to build soothing wall of sound.
WOW!!!
That is ENORMOUS!
Wonder if that is the justification for something double price that’s still made in China? ![]()

That and the fact that it came WITH:
1-Instructions both in English AND Chinese
2-Instructions online
3 -Fortune cookies
And
4 xIT ACTUALLY WORKS
So, I got my MS-60b yesterday.
I got it used thru the OfferUp App.
All the way thru the app for the first time as I had it shipped from Colorado to California.
When you do this, you make payment to Offer Up, they transfer to the seller and arrange for it to be shipped ( shipping labels and postage, the seller boxes and drops it at the post office or UPS store) and offer buyer protection in case they dont ship it, ship broken, etc…
Anyway, got this for $30 plus tax and ship was like $38. No box or manual. No power cord, but there is not one included when you buy new ( for around $119 last I checked) so that is expected.
It is in great shape. Like new with just a little tape residue on the side I can dissolve off with cleaner.
First impressions. Not what I expected because my actual first impression was seeing it on Amazon and thinking to mull “WTF”. That is lame. Why is it so much when you can get the B1four with way more features and ease of use for 2/3 the price. My real first impression was.
“That’s a stupid POS”
Second impression was from watching a You Tube video series on Bass COMPRESSION pedals, and the 2nd IMPRESSION was that of shock…
“ARE YOU SERIOUS”.
This Australian YT bass channel rated it at the TOP of one of the 3 levels of compression pedals.
1 $400 and up - 2 &200-$400 and 2 $200 and under. AUD.
That peaked my interest
THANK GOD FOR THIRD IMPRESSIONS
I LOVE THIS THING. MIGHTBE MY FAVORITE PEDAL RIGHT NOW.
First, I heard about learning curve. Well…
I picked it up, was off and running in no time
Until…
I got stuck trying to select new effects to build a preset.
Turned on TY, searched, 2 min later, un stuck.
I didn’t consider the ring around the stomp button to be active.
I guess that’s the learning curve (hahaha, stupid pun … curve… ring… circle…ahhhh I am so dumb…hahaha)
But once I got that going, I was off to the races.
I must say, and some will hate me for it, cuz they are gonna get interested, but I am gonna say it…
I think this is easier and better then the B1four to program chains, and creat / edit in real time.
It is certainly easier and faster to re-order pedals in a chain you greeted. And I found it much better to tweak in while selecting pedals in real-time, as you are playing.
I do think not everybody will agree. I think others may find the B1four easier, faster, better, but for me, this is it, much better IMO. That is personal to me, not trying to really get a battler between units going, just clearly stating it is this way for me.
I also find I was more successful getting the sounds and settings I was looking to get creating presets. I made 5, no 10 compressor pedals last night.
I will say, out of the compressors I have tested in the B1four (is, I’m, I, they are the same as this, but I had better luck with this), and on my pedal board, the
Behringer Limiter / Enhancer
Kokomo Compressor
Valine compressor
MXR Dynacomp
TC Electronics Spectra Comp
I like these 5 the best, some more then others.
Thing about compression, it is a subtle effect, sometimes you don’t know it is even on. Sometimes you can’t hear the difference between different settings, or if you hear the difference, you get a huge hissing sound while not playing, or even with the bass volume off.
Other times, if you hear the difference, you turned the dials so far that when it kicks in, you feel like you have ear plugs in, it gets so muffled.
Well, I set up a presets for each compressor, followed by a copy of that preset. So 2 slots for each type.
160 Comp
160 Comp 2
Mark Bass Comp
Etc…
For OptiComp, Limiter, SpectraComp.
I got the parameters set, each with minimal hiss, and where I could hear a difference when slapping, but not where it sounded restricted.
Then with the Copy on line 2, I did the most briliant thing, that I got the idea from @howard, and it is pure genius.
I added a pedal to the reset in slot 2.
ZNR. The noise gate.
This is brilliant. Completely eliminated any hiss, and made it so when I was not playing, dead silent. For some reason I don’t recal it working so well in the B1four, but I never used it with just a compressor, don’t know why. Well, probably because I didn’t ever plan to use that whole unit as just a compressor like I did this multi Comp.
Anyway, my compressor search is over. I have 5 set up with the noise gate, all foot switch selectable, and it’s going on the board.
That is not to say I am not going to play with it more. I will probably dial in the chorus, and delay and stuff in single pedal chains, then see if I can duplicate it on the B1four. Because my pedalboard plan is to use the B1four on it, in line somewhere near the end as a dedicated Chorus (Corona) Pedal, or foot switch selectable delay or flanger or phaser, I will see what I come up with, but it’s going on the board.
I got a used B1xFour on the way that will be my stand alone headphone practice amp / processor / modeler, so I am good there.
I will shut up with this.
If I can find, or see another one of these pedals in say the $50 and under range, I will happily buy another Zoom MS-60B.
And if they ever release a Bass counterpart to the Zoom MS-70G, I will get one.
Oh yeah, last thing, I am pretty sure you can connect this pedal to a computer and use the Tone Library, or whatever it is called. Just like the B1four. I am not sure, I don’t have a PC or Mac to test either product out with, so…
pedals are very rarely sold with a power chord
LOL @T_dub check out my lastest comment in this thread ![]()
Yes I covered this, stating it is not sold with one when new was just clarifying for others that have not bought a lot of pedals
Hi @PamPurrs,
I just think by the photo you have very small feet, you could have at least painted you’re nails for the foot selfie:joy:

cheers Brian
Hey man, you like it, that’s all that matters. I love the thing being in a normal sized pedal enclosure and I wish Zoom would update it with their later hardware and effects models.

Yeah, I am happy with it. I was just wanting to clarify that I was saying I think it is better and easier to use.
Not
It is better and easier to use.
Just didn’t want to open a debate about if it is or not, that is really the opinion of the person using it.
Plus Indid not want someone going and getting one, in addition to a b1four, bas3d on me saying it is better and easier.
I think it’s great to have, and encourage getting one if desired, but if you have a B1four, or “x”, or B3n, or something, and think it is great and easy to use, and you get one, you may still like it, but may find it clumsy in comparison. I do not, but others may.
That is the reason to say “some may disagree”
Because they may. I am just trying to be as clear as possible, some things have been lost in translation recently, so I am being more careful with my choice of words to try and prevent more of it.
Looks real neat @T_dub and I can certainly see where it would fit into a pedal board a lot prettier than the B1 xfour
I’m still playing with the presets on my 4 ! Not been brave enough to do anything else as to be honest I have no idea what would go with what.
Childishly I like Larry Jet,Talk to Me and stuff like that for noodling.
One thing I haven’t got working yet is the wah pedal
I have mine setup, and have started reading the book, but am away for the long weekend so will start playing with it this week @Mac @T_dub, I did have a muck around with it at Manny’s before I bought it
Cheers Brian
yeah, one of the problems to me with zoom is it seems as though instead of trying to perfect a few things they just dc their current stuff and replace it with something new. when i traded from a B1on to the new B1four it was a mixed bag. i like the new pedal, but almost none of the patches or effects that i liked on the old pedal carried over to the new one. i would like to see them put out a library of effects that you could just load your faves onto the current pedals.
Don’t they have that? Idk cuz I can’t use it, No Mac or PC, just an IPad, but I thought they had old effects in the tone library
Maybe it could be suggested to them to add them to the library??
