A 5'er dilemma

No it’s across the country. It’s slightly used so price us much lower too

Slightly used is indeed a huge advantage over new. And it does look great.

I really like the white. It looks pearlescent from the pics and, if it is, that’s even better!

The purple is more flamboyant looking but the white is classy.

Finding a mint condition lightly used example for a good price doesn’t happen all that often… I reckon I’d be all over this like a rash if the price was right.

I like the white one. Black and white never fail imo.

Indeed it’s pearlescent white. The guy bought it in May of this year as B stock direct from Lakland. Has a single scratch in headstock under A string that is barely visible. Apparently he’s just decided to cull his collection and he wasn’t digging the Lakland vibe.
This would save me around $600 over the new purple one which makes it even more appealing.

Is there a black version of that bridge? That would look great.

I don’t think so, and totally agree!

I’d guess that this one is a solid buy even if you want to get the purple one later, assuming the used price is reasonable. Could always resell it.

You’ve swayed me in favour of the white one @John_E and as @howard said you would certainly be able to resell it if you weren’t happy

My rule of thumb for buying used is I’ll pay a max of 60% of retail.
Sounds like you’re close to this figure but I’d bet you could do better, especially if the owner bought at B-Stock prices originally.

Yes he has an OBO, so there is room, however…he is willing to split the shipping because…he is in Alaska! So $200 for shipping, $100 for my end. So even if I get him to drop by $100 I am still in the same boat. And since it is only 5 months old, I doubt he will go much lower.

The other interesting thing is the white ones on the website are only with a white headstock and maple board, so this is some sort of custom or one off or something.

The Ebony board with Pearl block inlays definitely look better than Maple with the pearlescent white body. :sunglasses:

I am pretty much in the 'if i can make a deal I like with this guy, I am buying it" camp.

I might like the white over the purple. Something to be said for elegance

Yeah that fretboard and headstock are doing it for me really.
And I do like the block inlays better than the dots.
We shall see, awaiting his additional pictures.
