I bought this strap for the Italia Mondial (white/black) but that bass had to go back. It has been wanting a bass to attach to ever since. I was rummaging around for a set of pickups that I just sold in my bins and saw it. Took it as a sign. According to FedEx, the bass arrives today (but still shows it is in Alaska, so who knows). FedEx is so screwed up systems wise right now. The last bass was at the local holding facility for two days before the system updated that it had arrived. So not holding my breath.
The dilemma is solved.
I really liked this as much if not better than the purple that “might” ship Jan-Feb, and saved over $600 in the process. It’s mint. And heavy! Going to let it acclimate a bit and give it a go. It’s got clear tapes of some kind on it. New for me.
Well…. As it would happen….
Someone just listed a used purple 5’er on tb.
I still am happy with the white/black. Just funny how things work.
It does have a gorgeous finish. Things work out as they should usually though. I bought my Stream 5’er used, and then the new 1004 model ships 8 months sooner than they said it would. I like the new model but wouldn’t trade what I have for it
The purple is gorgeous but I’d take the pearl white and Ebony any day of the week and every day of the week!
Purple yes, but the super light maple is what tilted me to the ebony and black.
Ebony fingerboards are da bomb
Yeah - I don’t love unfinished maple headstocks at all.
Home for the weekend and got to mess with the Lakland a bit. Although the “white tape” La Bella’s it came with are really cool, they are HUGE and a bit of a pain to play while also navigating an extra string (135-115-94-70-60!!!).
So ordered up sets of normal La Bella flats and rounds to mess with instead.
What I can say is that I love love the pickup/tone combos and the overall feel of this bass. A bit of a stretch for sure coming off of my travel bass the past week but man these Laklands are sweet.
One more bass where I see no reason to change a thing, including tuners. Something they have over Fender for sure.
Nice bass!
