A little music related fun

Wow @Barney I could only take about a minute of that one but it was enough to convince me that you’re right.

I read that cartoon, and thought Terry Jacks. But you beat me. But that still Bobby Sherman or the Bay City Rollers or David Cassidy

My daughter was born in 1970 and when she was a youngster and started enjoying music, Seasons in the Sun was her favorite song that she would play over and over and over and over and over and…

Dude! This is one of my most favorite songs of all time. There is no Canadian shame here (the shame stays in your “ketchup”).

My #1 Guilty Pleasure!! Actually learning how to play it in last couple of days. :joy:

The wonderful thing about music is all opinions are valid.

However this tune is like being robbed in a multi-storey car park. Wrong on so many different levels.

If you want the sheet music, let me know.
@Barney , nothing wrong with Seasons in the sun, its a timeless classic imo.
@PamPurrs daughter has good taste and so does John @John_E .
You have to be able to appreciate all types of genres.

You’re right @TNKA36 and I do for the most part. Seasons in the Sun is a great song and I do like it, but subconsciously I think of it as a children’s song because of my daughter playing it so much.
The same thing happened with the song, All Star by Smashmouth. My two boys watched Shrek and played that song constantly when they were preteens. Now whenever I hear that song, I think of the school bus dropping the boys off, and my peaceful day turning into chaos.
I think we all have songs that we equate with events, relationships, or periods in our life, which either ruin the song or make us love it.

You’re probably right @John_E and @TNKA36 I guess I was probably over exposed to that song in our house as a child :sunglasses:

I’m posting this with a heavy heart…

As much as I love basses, amplifiers, effects, and everything that comes with it…it is taking up too much of my time. I am struggling to keep up with the everyday basics of cleaning and cooking and maintaining my home, so something has to give. I will be getting rid of my collection.

Thanks for reading and understanding…

@John_E I might be interested in the broom. How fast does it go? Does it come with a backrest for those long trips? Does it have a luggage rack?

I’ll take one of the sponges.

That dude with the mike is amazing!

He’s the guy from the Police Academy films, I was aware of his sound effects but he could just as easily have been a singer with that voice

Once upon a time, a Japanese pop/rock act got a show on Cartoon Channel, and Hi Hi Puffy Ami Yumi was born. The act Puffy (Puffy Ami Yumi in the US cause of Puff Daddy) had a show for 3 seasons until a contract dispute with the director cancelled the show (and got it wiped from any mention on the channel).

But we still have YouTube for good or ill.
