Fennel seed to be precise.
Fennel itself was always used at Sunday dinner after the meal as a “digestive” between the mains and fruit/dessert. Fresh fennel is Dee-lish

That’s interesting. I’ve never had fresh fennel between courses. is it served as a palate cleanser?
Probably but my grandparents always said it helped digestion, which is doubtful as it’s very much Basically licorice flavored celery

btw I used to read an urban fantasy book series set in my home town of Chicago. and the heroine, along with killing werewolves with swords, has a fave pizza - thin crust with double bacon and striped with sour cream. and GD it

Taco pizza with refried bean/enchilada sauce, mozzarella and cotija, taco meat, jalapeno and fresh shredded lettuce and tomatos on top with sour cream as a side - trust me on this.

Yeah for the pizza you usually want a thin and crispy crust in my experience but on Naan it would actually be really good too
