I did the math … and from 2015 - 2025 I spent approximately $48,000.00 ON CIGARETTES.
This blew my mind… The G.A.S. outrage… The gear I could have had…
DONE.
I F*@CKIN QUIT!
( I may be grouchy for a bit )

Good for you man! And best of luck! I quit over 20 years ago, and I’ve never regretted it. After a few failures, I finally used nicotine patches, and that helped a lot. Also identifying and avoiding triggers for the first few months. There were some smoker friends I just didn’t hang out with until I knew I was strong enough to not be tempted when they lit up.
It took me 8 years quitting. It was hard. Really hard. Best thing I’ve done probably.
I’m putting a piece of paper on the wall … right in front of where I jam my bass…
with $48,000 on it
as a reminder
That’s a great idea!
I wish I had never started
I quit a few times which were actually just breaks, but the last time I did quit and it was the easiest full time, one time, one instant and I was done.
Sure the decision was strong just like the other times but this time I went to the universal power for help… Straight to the top, I asked out loud and I received my answer immediately. It has been one of the easiest things I have ever done, but I’m sure I didn’t do it alone.
There is J and there is G and there is the third, that which is everything and everywhere always, - Universal consciousness.
Ask and you shall receive… Just ask out loud and be grateful in your asking and see what happens.
No patches, no gum and no problems, and no jones…
If you never started you would miss this opportunity to move in harmony with all that is.
There is no need for luck…
Ya … if that worked for you … That’s cool… and glad it worked… I don’t do religion… or God… and that stuff
But I do appreciate the reply Thanks.
Hang in there, man. It could very well be hard, but you’re not alone. I’ll be rooting for you and sending you positive vibes. I know others on the forum will be, too. If you need anything, we’re here. You got this.
Oh yeah, fuck tobacco.
Thanks Mike … I smoked since 1981… I don’t want to do that math… cuz I would probably have a stroke… or an embolism, aneurism… some kind of ‘ism’ …
LOL
I know it will be hella hard… but WOW all that money … wasted …
As I did not either but if the universe is conscious why not say hello.
Quantum physics is now saying the universe is conscious so the terms of J and G were ways for the uninitiated and simple people to relate to the one.
There is only one closed system in the universe and that is the universe itself.
If you know that then that will likely be the case…
I hear you. I know friends and family that spent huge amounts of money on that crap. And many of them died from smoking. So the total expense in money, health and life is enormous.
But that’s in the past.
One foot in front of the other, man. Look at this as another opportunity to dig into your bass practice and playing. The future looks a lot brighter once the smoke clears.
I’m gettin a Dingwall in June… maybe I’ll be able to get a Warwick Fretless too booyah
LOL
That’s the ticket!
I am also grabbin a Spector Peformer 5 string too LOL
the G.A.S is REAL
According to the lung specialist at the London Canada hospital only 30% who smoke for decades have real health problems because of smoking.
Don’t worry about it… If it hasn’t killed you by now it probably wont.
Its not the health… or the habit … its the embarrassing amount of wasted CASH … I went through this recently with gaming as well…
12000 hrs in Destiny… doing what? Moving pixels?
If its about the money that could have gone to gear then its totally understandable.
