@PamPurrs I’ve used it, could always just create another email account just for that. It’s i-lok is one of those necessary evils that you have to deal with if you want to use some things. UVI is worth it, imho.
I went ahead and and submitted myself to the mercy of I lok. But the stupid app is still telling me that it’s not registered. I’m really getting fed up with all this nonsense, UVI can’t possibly be good enough to justify all this aggravation.
Whatever happened to the good old days when you just enter your license number into the app and move on?
Yeah it was a hassle, but the Grand Piano does sound amazing. I am trying to remember the steps I had to take, but I know it was a few and it was not obvious at first.
If you could share those steps with me, I’d appreciate it. I’d like to hear how this sounds after all this hassle.
For the life of me, I just can’t understand why they took something as simple as entering a license number into an app, and turned it into such a debacle.
Think I followed these step https://support.uvi.net/hc/en-us/sections/360000193417
I’ve already done all that. I’m just trying to get this piano to work now.
@Sully have you been able to get that Grand Piano plugin to work in your DAW? I’m trying to find it on my computer so I can add it to the path in Reaper.
Yeah, I’ve used it in Logic. You may have to close and reopen reaper to get it to show up.
Well, yeah. I’ve already done that a number of times throughout this process.
tried this too? https://support.uvi.net/hc/en-us/articles/115003258025-Loading-UVI-Workstation-in-Reaper
Yeah I’ve tried that and a number of other things. Can’t get any sound to come out either with the virtual keyboard of my MIDI keyboard.
and it’s working outside of reaper, just in the UVI Workstation software on it’s own?
if yes, did you try the article at the bottom of what I sent, that says what to do if it’s not showing up in your DAW?
It is showing up in my DAW. It just doesn’t produce any sound
It doesn’t work anywhere, period. Not in the standalone app and not in Reaper. I’m pretty much done with it, I’ve wasted most of the day trying to get that thing to work. Maybe it sounds great, but it’s not worth my time trying to get it to work.
I just used it in both Ableton and Logic Pro and it worked fine…weird, probably some silly checkbox or something
If you open UVI work stations at the top, where it says double click to open browser, click that, then in the left you will see sound banks and then Grand Piano Model D, click that, choose a sound and double click it, then it will load into the keyboard
@PamPurrs see my edited post above
Yeah maybe so. I know Reaper has some limitations, but I’m not willing to empty out my wallet for Ableton or Logic Pro just so I can use some piano plugin. I’ll just take your word for it that it sounds great. My Piano One plugin sounds great too, and I had it up and running in about 5 minutes without having to expose myself to that evil I Lok.
did you try my directions two posts up?
I’ve been back and forth with a support dude at Arturia most of the day. He tried everything and couldn’t get it to work. I’m sure he tried that.
