I’m in the process of doing that now, was up to 10 instruments, I have one more to go and I’ll be down to just a guitar, a P bass, a Jazz bass and a short scale, that’s plenty for me…and just a couple of pedals now. YES it does feel good to have a lot less hanging around.
Sold 4 basses, 2 guitars and 4 amps. Still not satisfied.
The Sandberg ![]()
With the price increases for bass guitars over the last year, you might even be able to sell it close to purchase price, especially since the color does seem to be a limited edition ![]()
I sold my Sandbergs too. One for the purchase price and the other one was really close.
My stance regarding selling or not selling changes faster and more often than the lunar phases ![]()
I probably wouldn’t be able to sell my cream VM4 (yes that horrible color with tortoise pickguard
). I certainly wouldn’t make a good deal anyway with the dings it got during the ongoing time as my go to bass
But maybe I’m just a hoarder anyway…
Never understood the appeal of this particular combo… but at least the pickguard can be changed easily. And you just have to advertise it as “roadworn” or “master relic’d” or whatever they call it to charge even more ![]()

Show off
I do like that color combo
I’ll need to keep it a few more decades to give it the true roadworn feeling though
I assume that I am the only one on this forum however
You are not alone!

No way! I got at least two basses that I will NEVER sell.
I’m quite happy with my current collection but I still need a bit more living space.
If I had a music room like John I would have been hoarding too.
Methinks @Krescht was talking about his love of the cream/tort combination ![]()
Ohhhhhhhh, I do like broken white. Not sure about cream lol
Got no problem with tort either. I think it looks retro @Krescht
It surely does… and to think that I had a strong dislike for Fender-style headstocks when I started out playing
ll I can think is it’s some sort of glitch in PayPals transaction review software?
The PayPal did attempt to explain to me that they’re not the bad guys in this but if they’re not, who is?
It sounds like they owe you that money. In a sense, PayPal knows the issue but won’t do anything about it. That’s a class action lawsuit waiting to happen.
It’s funny how this thread is going.
It seems that bass owners have a big thing in common with boat owners: The two happiest days of their lives are when he/she buys ‘em and when he/she sells ‘em.
Well said @MikeC.
