Wow, cool
My Sandberg is on order and the wait is killing me… apparently will be here in April.
Yeah, the wait is the hardest!! But, it’ll be worth it
Yep @joergkutter I 100% agree… it will just make it better but… I’m kind of buying pedals now to compensate for my feelings of loss…lol, first world problems.
…actually, is it loss or unrequited love? Anyway coz I felt a bit shit about COVID, work, lockdowns, basses that I ordered but take so long to build, and loads of other stuff any way, I bought myself a Micro Pog Octave pedal and a Darkglass Alpha Omicron distortion pedal. When will life return to normal? I feel I’m over compensating coz all year I’ve felt so shit.
Excellent choice on pedals! If you are going to overcompensate, you might as well do it in style
A second-hand shop near me has a 1965 Framus 5/152-52 short scale. I gave it a try in the shop and it sounds heavenly with its flatwounds. The short scale neck was a dream to play, with a super low and light action.
I can’t afford it. I’m not really good enough to justify a new instrument, especially one this expensive. But goddamn I want it so bad.
Love the colour @joergkutter.
Cheers Brian
buy it bro…I was surfing thru the local craigslist this morning…and low and behold…a RICKENBACKER 4001 JegGlo…well…its in my house now…
This. 100% this. I have this exact Bass after the wife lifts the ban when I got that Squier a few weeks back. I love the other colors, but that blue with the red guard…
Anywho, that ban should be lifted at some point… maybe…
I think this sums it up and I understand your point about overseas made Sterlings and Squiers, but I honestly am very happy with what I have at the moment.
Maybe I could have just gotten one more expensive bass, but I love the way each of these sound when I crappily play them. (That’s not me being hard on myself. Life has been a dumpster fire that hasn’t afforded me a lot of time with them.) The two Sub Rays sound different from each other and the Squier Contemporary Active sounds even different still.
Maybe not perfect children, but my children regardless
Haha, I guess we’re up to four now @Jazzbass19 @howard and @joergkutter! Though, I did theoretical chemistry.
Oh, yeah, that is where stuff ALWAYS works
Yeah, but nobody believes you
True!
Experimental work: everybody believes the results, apart from the guy who did the experiments
Theoretical work: nobody believes the results, apart from the guy who ran the calculations
Or was it the other way round??
In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice, but in practice, there is
I love Yogi Berra’s wisdom!
Analytical chemist in school: “Running these experiments using the NMR, GC, MS, and IR are awesome! I feel like a scientist!”
Analytical chemist in industry: “Ok sure I can stir the muriatic acid with a boat oar. Should I at least check the pH? No? Ok!” *
*100% true story
Haha, that is awesome, @howard - I shall use this with my students
Now, to bring this thread again back towards basses, here is a beautiful Roks Nardis 5 for your viewing pleasure, y’all
I really love the looks of that Peavey Cirrus that Josh plays in the B2B lessons. Even though I have never played one, I’m a bit of a sucker for neck-though basses. Being a beginner, I don’t plan to spend a fortune on basses. This Harley Benton BZ-4000 NT looks like a budget version of that Cirrus and has been tempting me for a while…
