Looks like a Serek Midwestern with a custom pup.
Thats my thoughts, but it has Aguilar pickups and a Gibson replacement bridge, so , and I recall another company making basses with those white stripes.
Still would guess Serek without looking further.
Yeah, the body, bridge and pickguard look like Serek Midwestern.
Must be a custom with Aguilar P pups
I see orange, I like. We need more orange basses.
Yep, thats it. different bridge and pick guard, and totally STRANGE concept, but yeah, thats the look I was thinking.
That further solidifies the fact the orange one is a Serek Midwestern with custom pick ups.
I have never heard of a better concept, but it could have a horrible end result.
If that is changed to I NEED MORE ORANGE BASSES, and we limit it to you and I, and a few others (Brian’s with his custom Bass Buzz, anyone who hails from a country with Orange as the national color, etc…).
If everybody had an orange bass, then I couldn’t stick out as easily.
Yes, I have always thought that as a Dutchman, I should have an orange bass
Not a lot of models to choose from though.
There are my two dream basses, but for some reason you don’t like them. I think they are the coolest thing to ever be made.
I prefer the translucent Orange with Black hardware, but the fretboard on the solid orange one is amazing. The fretboard on the 2nd one is the same style, but doesn’t seem as prominent. I have seen many other photo’s that do shot the same type of pattern, but it really stands out on the first bass.
Either way, I would happily take either one, or both.
Its funny that these are both Stingray Specials (The upgraded / updated 2018 and later model), but I have never seen them on the Music Man website. Only on GC and Reverb.
You can tell they are Stingray Special, and not Stingray Classic cuz of the deeper cut in the TEARDROP pickguard where it meets the neck, this is due to them changing the neck from 21 to 22 frets, so the neck sticks a whole fret further into the pickguard.
I actually like that second one, with the black hardware. I could live with the egg and the banana in matching colors like that.
… You know I’m just messing with you, right
To each their own, especially when it comes to things like musical instruments.
If I had to choose an orange bass, it would probably be this one:
Yeah, I like the orange that Fender had a year ago, but the Jazz bass is to me what the Stingray is to you. I just don’t like the look. I prefer the P, and even the Jag body to the Jazz. Don’t hate it, would probably own one at some point, but just to have had a Jazz cuz I certainly am not in love with it.
For those that don’t know, this bass is a G&L Fallout, a totally strange concept of making a SHORT SCALE bass for somebody that wants it in the STANDARD 34" SIZE.
Yes, you read that correctly. look at the bridge, it is pushed up from the bottom of the body. This is because the total size of the bass is 34", but it is a 30" scale. So you get the beneifts of the frets being closer together and fingering could be easier, but it is the same reach for your arm as a standard scale bass.
Lobster gave it a good review as far as fit and finish, and sound quality and everything, but he, like me, just can’t figure out why somebody would want this, or at least I should say, I would not want this, at least not in concept, of course that could change if I played one.
Ooooooohhh, what’s that first one? That’s my new favorite
Sandberg California TM in metallic orange, I would say. Just looks
The last few basses that were posted are all so sexy! But that orange Fender Precision LOOKING bass is gorgeous! What is it by the way?
I like the groovy '70’s bean bag style living room chair too.
Whenever you see four dots in a square pattern next to the end of the neck, it’s a Sandberg ![]()
No Fender there
Custom Sandberg California Lionel VS, probably masterpiece aging. And it’s a short scale BTW
