Anyone ever regretted selling a bass?

The first bass I bought was a used EBMM Caprice. I ended up selling it to finance a new Stingray HH that I never really connected with. I’d love to get that Caprice back.

Man, that hurts. Sorry that happened. Hope you can find another Caprice. They are great.

That was a perfect example of newer is not always better. Ironically I love the Stingray H that I have now, but I was never able to connect with that HH.

I know but the crazies are what keeping this interesting. I’ve got guys messing me where do I get my upgrades and how to install them, lol.

You are very lucky to get that as your first bass. Then again maybe not so much since you sold it. Performance wise they are about on par with the high end basses but the cool factor goes up a few notches with the cutlass and caprice.

Edit: on the “sour grape” notes. Unlike the Cutlass, the Caprice does suffer from the lower pickups output due to the limiter that Musicman put on their pickups for that model. This is to recreate a classic vintage tone and vibe of the bass.

So there’s a brand new/old stock Caprice on Reverb. Will wonders never cease?

That’s a nice grain. I feel like that would have looked a lot nicer without making it a burst and just going clear over the natural wood.

LOL. Yank that crap out and put in real pups!

Nice, but I don’t think I miss it enough to pay that much.

Oh, I know. The price is pretty steep. Just a heads up.

I love the Tobacco Burst on my Cutlass. Great finish throughout.

I know some have no love for a burst, but I do. I spec’ed two of my handmade steel string acoustics with bursts. Now two of my basses have bursts.

Not implying it looks bad now, at all - as bursts go that’s a good one.

Just saying that that wood looks great like that and would look awesome as a gloss stained natural finish.

Rosie is back home! The first thing I did was replace the pickguard with the one Sara had made for the “original” Rosie. As far as I’m concerned, her spirit lives in the pickguard.

Here’s the original Rosie in my cover of Lyin’ Eyes. This was the last cover I did with her before I sold her in March 2021.

Here’s the “resurrected” Rosie.

I will never let this BB735 go again!

@PamPurrs

Congratulations Pam, glad to hear you are back with her. Yes, I believe the pick guard counts in returning back to what was once lost!
