I was recently listening to “Do Not Disturb” by the band Halestorm and it kind of caught me off guard because of how cool the base line was. I’m new to listening to that particular band and you don’t typically hear bass like that in the genre. Anyways, after listening to that song on repeat and playing around with that line myself I thought, “why not create a thread just for people to recommend cool bass lines to each other?”
It can be any genre, just post songs that you think have catchy bass lines in them. The more diverse the better actually because it may inspire someone to listen to a genre they don’t typically listen to or start playing lines that are out of their comfort zone. Can’t wait to listen to some catchy new riffs!
I’m loving the bass lines so far. Some catchy tunes.
I always thought this was a super cool bass line and a fun one to play as well. I’m bias though, I have to admit that Duff is probably my favorite bassist. https://youtu.be/BKz2U4fvA4U
Yeah, I remember my brother playing that song when it was first released and I though it was a real cool sounding song. This was before my bass playing days so I though slash was the coolest. Then I finally picked up an instrument and I realize Duff is way cooler.
I love that gallop at the beginning. It’s so fun to play those. I may mess around with this song in just a bit. I’m envious of anyone that can play and sing at the same time. I was trying on that Like a Stone cover but it made my timing even worse.
I’ve got a huge problem with doing that myself. I always want to jump in the deep end and get it down right away and get frustrated. I definitely need to take a more relaxed approach. Can’t wait to see you post your cover on here.
