Hi people! I just want to know, is there a brand of pickguards that can fit on a Bacchus bjb-1rsm…My pickguard has gone through quite a beating due to my antics of customizing every bass I own up to the point it dosen’t look like itself. So, is there a brand out there? or do I have to try and do something stupid?
Paging @Whying_Dutchman
Pretty sure there are a number of manufacturers on Google/Ebay
I’m afraid I only know how to restore old pickguards - they do look perfectly after restoration though:
What’s great about my approach is that you can use the original pickguard, change it to any colour you like, even when you changed the pickup cavities.
I went through several iterations to do it perfectly, much to the amusement of some here…
If you have questions @RunawayBassman01 , I’m happy to help!
If I remember correctly, @Wombat-metal and @sunDOG have good sources for new pickguards…
EDIT Is it this one?
That would be very easy to do using my method. You could even do the control plate in a matching colour…

It looks a lot like a jazz bass pickguard. They can do customs I believe
I was going to say you could try seeing if you can order one as a part from Deviser (Bacchus’ parent company), but I just checked for you and they currently don’t sell replacement pickguards.
So, what I would do is take it off the bass and take it to a local luthier or guitar shop. The luthier or guitar repair person can use your old one as a template to make a new one for you.
Guess depends on where you are based… I’m in the U.K. and have used https://gig.ink/
This is a custom pick guard for my Dingwall. I didn’t like the dull black that seemingly all Dingwalls come with, so I had him produce one using the first deep field image from the James Webb Space Telescope. It’s looks beautiful. He does ship overseas.
Yeah. that’s the one. And I have done the vinyl wrapping but, there are air pockets that I have no idea how to get rid of, and it just looks cheap after awhile…maybe its because I chose carbon fibre…yea, that’s the reason.
You need to heat the vinyl wrapping with a hair dryer or a hot air gun and then use a piece of felt to swipe the air pockets away. Very simple.
This is absolutely not the case with the 3M 2080. I have used it in “combat” mode, while playing in the park (direct sun, a little rain, dirt, throwing the bass around) … no issue at all!
3M has a carbon fibre look too. I have it here but didn’t put it on my pickguard. It looks very robust though…
