Hi guys how are you? Long time I am not connect on the web as I am back to work and not that much time for playing. However I try to playing every weekend now. Just a small question and opinion for you? What kind of compressor do you recommended for rock and metal fan like me? I hope you are all keep well and healthy thank you guys

The vast majority of compression pedals are ripoffs of the dynacomp. They make a bass one. Probably what most rock guys are using.

Chosing a compressor is mostly about personal choice. You might want to search the Forum, there have been quite a lot discussions about compressors

What exactly does a compressor do?

I know this might seem like a strange/silly question to most, but I am indeed unsure what exactly a compressor does! And by “does” I mean what it does to the tone, not so much the technology how it does what it does. I have little problem imagining what a distortion effect does, or even a chorus and a flanger, heck even a noise gate and a fuzz-wah… But, even though it is one of the most common effects, I am still a bit unsure what exactly a compressor does.
