Bass guitar straps

Yeah I feel like if it had metal brackets and not plastic it could be used as climbing gear

Man I wish you’d linked those before I spent ages looking them up again last night :joy:

I have tunnel syndrome, but I really try to play every day.

I just picked up a 4.5ā€ strap and it feels so much better than my old 2ā€ strap. If 4.5ā€ is too big then try a 3.5ā€. I wouldn’t give up on trying to find something that’s comfortable.

Thanks everyone for your strap suggestions. The KLIQ Air Cell size small goes down to 38 inches so that will be perfect for me - but many of the nice padded ones don’t go that small. The other issue I have discovered is that my Fender Mustang PJ has a bit of neck dive, and that could also be making my strap pull on my shoulder and neck. I saw a guy on YouTube fix this on a Mustang by replacing the plastic knobs with nickel ones, and he also added a Dunlop strap lock - no more neck dive. I’m going to do the same and see if it helps. It might even rectify the problem I had with the custom made harness strap from Slinger. Ah… so many things to learn…the hard way, it seems. I still quite like the one from Mad Max though

Available in only two variants – 2ā€ or 3ā€ thick

I guess they mean 2" or 3" wide. Also, air cell straps aren’t that unique. I know at least one brand (Kliq) that’s had them for years:

Thanks John_E The Hangover straps look pretty too (pretty is important if you have no talent :joy:)

I have owned a KLIQ and it was just fine, good straps.

Western Tan Relic just arrived. Love these Pinegrove Leather straps. By far the most comfortable straps I’ve ever tried.

I had one of these harness straps custom made - I’m 5ft 2 and my bass is very heavy for just one shoulder. Because of my height the waist strap was way up under my boobs and couldn’t go any higher, so the bass sat far too low for me. It would have worked fine for anyone with a torso just a couple of inches longer than mine, so if you are struggling with neck and shoulders it would definitely be worth a go. The same company makes one in padded leather as well - but the price will give you a stroke and then you’ll never be able to hold that thing up…lol. I hope this helps

Only one and while it’s not very fancy it’s comfortable because it has some ā€œgiveā€ to it which has the effect of reducing the dead weight on my shoulder. Each one of my basses has the same strap.
