Wouldn’t be my pickup choices but I love the headstock. Nice looking bass.
This one is gorgeous!
Cool. The wood and colour make up for the plain headstock. The neck heel could be a bit rounder too. Nice bass overall!
Black Smokers are fantastic. I grabbed a pic of a bunch last time I was in Ikebe. Is this the one you grabbed the shot of?
That one wasn’t there last time I was in; it’s up at one of their other stores (ironically a different one that I have also bought a bass from).
Price is what I would expect for a limited color Black Smoker. Amazing looking bass.
Yep, that’s the little honey. Really love the looks. And, from what I’ve read about the boutique shop, it sounds like those luthiers have the chops to build a fine instrument.
I was seriously impressed by them. One of those instruments you check out and say “yep, that’s a legit $3k instrument.”
Just something to add to the list.

THE ORANGE O-BASS IS BACK !! - YouTube
Seems to sell for approximately $550 Dollars.
Gassing hard
@Paul I know. Looks like a lot of fun. I have “just two” GAS basses on my list: The new Squier 40th anniversary vintage P-bass and this new Orange bass.
OK, OK. I was more drawn by the looks and the smaller body but I personally found reasons to delete it from the list…
It’s a pretty meh bass.
I dunno why, but to me that Orange-O bass looks like something that would have come out of cold-war era USSR. It doesn’t do it for me.
Edit: I should add that just generically speaking, I’m not a fan of the “Les Paul” shape.
@JustTim If that’s what it was that would actually make it more interesting.
Here here is an example of a 70’s Russian Bass.
This one is the equivalent of an 8mm mid-'70s special filmed in a shipping container behind a gas station in Buttfuck, Arkansas.
Speechless… but I take the camera for fun and the container for a studio… as long as I get to choose where they are going to be.
Wow, in a shipping container?! Fancy!!
