I have the wood to try and fill the neck holes with, but that’s as far as I’ve gotten on it.
Double neck Masterbuilt Jaguar and Bass VI - thats a lot of vibrato
This one goes beyond Bass Porn, into Unobtainium.
Yamaha SBV-J2, ultra rare signature model made for L’Arc-en-Ciel’s producer, who had also produced Polysics and loved Fumi’s SBV-550. Only 100 made (Fumi has one as well); even more rare than the Miki Furukawa signature SBV, and this one is a double-P:
About $3k used.
Man, I love my SBV, and this one is like taking the SBV to 11. Double-P, maple fretboard, inlays, binding. Crazy.
First one I have ever seen in the wild. Ever hear of these, @terb?
Love it. Very unique fret markers too
I knew this model exists, but I’ve never seen one in person. that’s some kind of ultimate SBV, even if the 500 and 550 are still really cool.
also the controls on the J2 are kinda strange. possibly the black slider switch could be a tone filter preset or something, instead of the normal tone pot. Also I wonder why there is a jack on the pickguard, where it is on the side on the 500/550. or maybe this jack is something else, one can imagine a stereo output like a Rick … don’t know but it’s intriguing.
so cool. i love looking at ultra rare stuff.
edit: there’s one on ebay for 1700. it has a feeling of use.
I wasn’t sure if I was looking at the bass porn or the ugly duckling thread.
Just kidding! Cool looking bass with interesting lines. Maybe the offspring of an Iceman and a Kramer?
That’s the same one
A few of us have SBV’s, just not this one. @terb has a 500, I have a 550, @T_dub has a 550 as well. Cool basses with a cult following and some excellent artists using them.
yes. yes it is. good eye
I’m familiar with that feeling.
Me, too.
Definitely an eye-of-the-beholder thing.
Love mine. Really high quality, fantastic bass. Were I to get to keep just one, it would be it.
That’s what counts.
Everything counts in large amounts.
It’s a competitive world…
Yeeeeah…
No.
