That streamer next to it ain’t too shabby either!
John and Howard’s Excellent Adventures
Can’t wait to see what you got
Drool. I’m in the Woodline line too. Pretty sure that will be my jazz one day.
I’m such an otaku. I’m into Bacchus because that’s what Fami plays
Any time! Was super fun, great to finally meet after all these years.
You can’t quite make it out in the pic but John is standing in front of a $41,000 1964 Jazz bass. That thing was… junky AF, believe it or not. Six extra screws in the body where someone had done some very ill advised bridge mods, then undid them, but left the screws in, sticking out about 1/16". I wouldn’t have taken it for free (except of course for resale).
I can’t believe we saw two. These things are uber rare. Only 100 made.
We randomly ran in to 2% of the total production
We ran in to a nice cache of the red and blue oil finish ones. Love those, great look. Let me know if you’re ever in town
I was super happy with your purchase! Glad someone on the forum finally got one, I love them.
Yes and yes. I like the blue oil one too. The 2017 sakura is still my favorite if one ever shows up someplace.
It’s not impossible that I could show up there. It’s one of the likely places for me to take my Iaido DAN exam.
Oh sweet, that art has always fascinated me. So very precise.
Actually - only 50! So we saw 4%
Yamaha BJ5B 5-string Bass Guitar Terry & The Blue Jeans Signature Model. Limited Edition of 50. Made in Japan at the same time as the SBV and SGV re-issues, for the Japanese surf band Terry & The Blue Jeans (Takeshi Terauchi) in a limited edition of 50. There was also a matching limited edition guitar. This bass is essentially a cross between a Yamaha SBV (body and neck shape) and a Yamaha TRB II (Bridge, pickups and electronics).
It’s just crazy. I’d never even seen one. Then we run across two, one of which in decent shape. Cool rare bass.
Had a couple hours to kill so went back to that area. Everything opens soon but Big Boss was open already. We missed their premium bass floor upstairs, found some high things for you @Wombat-metal
That cute little acoustic Stream is here too btw
@howard
We missed this SBV 5 string too
I’m most likely to end up with the acoustic stream lol. Thanks mate
Yeah! That’s actually a 4-string SB-5A, also rare; those were the original 1967 model that the SBV is a reissue of. Those are also MIJ (the reissue and all subsequent SBV were made in Taiwan). Neat instrument.
LOL I didn’t even know that floor existed.
I love Ochanomizu.
I loved the pickup on that Blast Cult.
So……
I may have gone back to where @howard took me last night and may have bought something else.
Pics when I’m back in NY tomorrow….
Sparkley relic’d bass anyone? The neck on this guy is just stunning.
I was eyeing this one for several weeks but the price was a bit too high and someone finally snagged it. Seafoam sparkle is very striking to me - too bad there are only guitars in that finish on Reverb at this moment.
