It looks like the SB2’s go for a lot less here (about $400-500) but your used market might be different there. They have a lot of local competition here.
Those are both SB2 Tributes though, not sure what the Fullerton ones would run.

Is the box cold to the touch? is the bass cold to the touch? If it’s room temperature opening it won’t do anything.
Acclimation is a myth, you could pull it out of a freezer car and play it. You’ll just need to adjust it again later.
Love the baby powder blue.
I have the CLF version. It’s one of the best PJ out there. So funky cool with two volume knobs where the bridge acts as brightness control. Mine has the TI Jazz flats on and it’s just simply a monster.
I have both 3 bolt SB1 s d 6 bolt SB2 CLF.
well, you would have to tune it a few times if it’s warming up as the strings expand, but if it’s room temp it’s not a worry
GEEEZE AL1885
I’m glad you pulled into the conversation.
The one I posted is a 6 bolt with a CLF serial number stamped on the head.
Reviews are positive, very pretty and I’m liking the color a lot.
Is the SB2 a bass you like to play? ANY Thoughts are appreciated .
Re- math, Price on 2003 SB2 - $972.00 USD.
Yes it’s absolutely my kind of bass, very minimalist and funky as hell. Fast smooth narrow neck, comfortable weight mine is under 9 lbs
I’ve never had any issues with neck stability but on any basses but if you are the type who does rest assured, between the over engineered bridge and 6 bolt neck it’s going nowhere.
My only favorite PJ is this SB2 and the EBMM Caprice
Sure, that’s what I meant by adjust. Plus you will need set it up again after it’s warmed up.
But tuning is easy, and you aren’t going to harm the instrument at all by playing it right off the FedEx truck. No reason to wait.
I played a US L-2000 in store and just about melted. Every single thing about it was sexy. The feel, the sounds I could get, the look. I’m glad it was $1800, which is enough that I couldn’t justify walking out of the store with it. Not without saving up. That red though, I might have slept on the couch for however long for that.
Haven’t so much as touched the strings yet. I’ve got the strap on it and started getting that adjusted. Then I went and ran my errands. I’ve got stuff to do around the house before I make dinner, then it’ll be bass time.
That’s a great color/ finish
That’s a killer price.

You made it sound domesticated

I always check the electronics first; if they’re going to fail, it will fail outside the box and I’ve had a couple basses with bad preamps from Sweetwater so their 55 point check is questionable to me.
I had to add in an “it” talking about the strap so it wouldn’t sound sexual.

Wait @faydout you got your Yammy from Sweetwater? Yamaha don’t ship basses with battery and Sweetwater don’t give you one so if there’s no sound just put the battery in.

They shipped my first TRBX with one.
Great recommendation, I notice your SB2 may be a SB2T because it has a tone knob, or its a different year.
The reviews from sb2 owners without a tone knob mostly say don’t miss the tone knob, and say they get tons of tones with only the volume controls. Some say otherwise.
What do you think about not having a T knob?
