In hunting down a bass VI to learn on, I think Iām down to throwing bass VI strings on a 30" Gretsch baritone (5260T), the Ibanez SRC6MS (pic below), or jsut the Squier bass VI in cotton candy pink. The Gretsch should just be plopping some 24 - 90 strings on and dealing with the Bigsby trem. This Ibanez I find really interesting. I havenāt had a reason to get a multi scale or an Ibanez yet so that might be kinda cool. I worry though that those Bartolini pickups arenāt going to work so well as guitar pickups. Is this going to be too much of a metal bass to do Cure or shoegaze (just as examples of the kind of stuff I want to do with a VI) on like a regular bass 6?

The pickup doesnāt know what strings are on the instrument. A Fender Bass VI has guitar pickups but still picks up the E, A and D strings OK.

Yep, no doubt Mayones is going to debut them at the upcoming NAMM Show next week.
Feraud, Malaman and Navarro will probably be on hand to demo all the shiny, new Mayones models.

I wish Mayones was easier to get in Canada ā¦ Only 1 official dealer in the whole countryā¦ Thankfully Dingwall is all Canada eh.

I donāt have a local Mayones dealer. I bought my two Mayones and had them shipped to me in Texas from Europe. Super-smooth transactions.

The only Mayones dealer in Canada is in Toronto ā¦ I am in Alberta ā¦ yesā¦ they are accessibleā¦ but Dingwallās ā¦ I can go downtown ā¦ and buy one.
I will get a Mayones one day they look so FINE ā¦ and I love that headphone preamp featureā¦ DAMNā¦

Like the looks of it and the double P pickups., though Iām not familiar with Dunable. Thereās a used one on GC in āgoodā condition. Asking price is a grand.
