I love those heavy sapwood fingerboards, but I wonder if it’s distracting from what fret you’re on

That’s not sapwood. That is actually Pale Moon Ebony. It’s relatively rare and very pricey.

I didn’t opt for it on my custom build because it didn’t complement my chosen design and it was almost a grand extra for just the fretboard.

So this week I sold an attachment for my tractor and decided to pull the trigger on some basses I’ve been looking at.

Big thanks to @Al1885 for helping me decide amongst a few deals on FB marketplace.

To test them out, I performed 2 parking lot shows from my trunk and fortunately I also walked away with my kidneys intact.

Here they are:

Fender Squire 60’s vibe P bass

That’s a pretty great pair. You should be able to get a crazy variety of tones with those 2.

Well the 50x30 plot is too far for the well to get water to easily and these old bones are happy buying veggies made from other people’s sore backs

Now I’m just trying to get the tractor traded for a side by side with a plow or maybe a Jeep with a plow. (or maybe another 10 basses)

The bass is nice, but Alembic’s obsession with invaginations isn’t my cup of tea… as much as I am not generally opposed to invaginations in other circumstances.

Squier Bass VI

Cool new color (CME exclusive natch)

I was about to leave the house to go get my Gretsch baritone and checked the site to make sure… and it sold today. I’m just going to buy the Squier. I love that pink that @Wombat-metal just linked. I’m trying to decide between that and the silver sparkle. Anyone have any opinions? If it helps, I just got the white strap for it.

Edit: Here’s the strap to help visualize. I’m 50/50 on them and it’s stopping me from giving someone my money.
